Wow. Wow. Wow.
So freaking good. Quality ingredients and quality chefs make me happy and full.
Servers super friendly this place is a gem in Reykjavik!
Get #22 the lamb is unreal !!!
Eat here now!
One of the best Indian food we ever had. Ordered chicken chilly curry and garlic naan for takeaway. It was one of the tastiest we ever have had.
This was my second trip to Reykjavík, Iceland and went there both the time.
Excellent food and awesome crew.
We both had the saag aloo paneer and shared a cheese naan. Food very tasty and each main option comes with rice and salad. A touch on the expensive side (3000isk for the main meal which is around £21!! Although it's hard to know as everything is expensive in iceland) staff friendly and welcoming. Food came quickly and tasted great.
Good authentic food and great service.
I have to say to food was awesome!
Really enjoyed food although it cost 27,680isk for 3 people.
Tasty food in a really convenient location. The price was reasonable for Reykjavik, and enjoying a warm plate of curry on a cold winter night was a welcome experience.
Please save your £80+ and go elsewhere. This place is terrible, the food is horrible and watery. Worst of all We ordered a set met menu and the chicken starter was basically chicken nuggets, the waiter DROPPED our naan on the seat and floor and actually tried to serve it to us anyway. I had to tell him to take it away and get us naan that hasn't dropped on the seat and floor. Just makes you wonder what they do behind the scenes if they were comfortable enough doing that in front of customers. If you are unlucky enough to go to this restaurant - get the kheer. That was the only decent thing I tasted.
Really nice and tasty food 💕 Staff is smiling and service is good. A bit expensive but a feast for your taste buds ;) TakeAway lunch pack from the ready made "dishes of the day" are at a fair price though so if you wish to try the food without investing in the whole night in a restaurant with full menu and higher price then I really recommend the lunch take away. Still I think eating at Shalimar is a nice and cozy experience and worth it as a nice treat once in a while, just be aware its going to cost a bit.
Had a great experience. We got the dinner special which was great variety for food and worth the price. Would highly recommend it.
Fantastic place. We went twice during our stay at Reykjavik and both times the food was amazing. Ironically the service was faster when the place was busier. Really homey and makes you feel comfortable.
This Pakistani restaurant is a great place for eating lunch. One day I had the Mango chicken sweet and spicy curry and lunch next day was a Chicken chili curry. Both dishes were excellent. Nice people and service too.
Pretty good restaurant. Visit here for nice indian/pakistani cuisine.
This was the worst experience of my entire time in Iceland. We had to wait an hour and a half for our food and never had a waiter check on us the entire time. At one point there wasn't a single table that had food on the first floor. Other patrons were also upset and a lady fell asleep at the table waiting! The food was not worth the wait.
Excellent food! Pleasantly surprised when we happen in here to grab a bite. Intensely flavorful sauces, tender meat and light and delicate rice. Highly recommended.
Loved this place so much we ate there twice in the 3 nights were were in Rekayvik. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had, be sure to try the lobster appetizer.
Fantastic food, perfectly spiced in my opinion. Reasonably priced lunch offers
Price as most of Iceland is high but I can live with that.
Unfortunately the quality of the food is appalling.
I was so upset by the quality I rang to show my disappointment only to he told I was the first person ever to complain and told to put a review on trip advisor..
For the record, It's the worst curry I have every eaten, the most expensive and worst service.
Eat at your own risk
As a Pakistani I was not too sure walking in to a Pakistani restaurant in Reykjavik but I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted in urdu and to hear local music. The food was amazing! I had daal makhni, masala channay and naan followed by chai. Everything tasted as good as it tastes back in Pakistan!
Really delicious. I had never tried Pakistani cuisine and I was very satisfied.
Good decent food. Seriously, I am not sure what others experience is with Indian food, but having sampled it across the planet, this is good NOT awesome food. If you grade it on a scale of distance from India, then yes, it's awesome, but if you objectively compare it to London, or Washington DC, or Seoul, it's completely meeah
Absolutely delicious food and friendliest (most patient) wait staff. This meal warmed our bellies and was so needed in the cold weather. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.
