We picked this company for a variety of reasons. They had a smaller boat, family feel, offered warm clothing, etc. I never expected the lies, creepiness, and poor service. Last minute, they informed us they were pawning us off to a completely different company!!! This is not what I paid for! What if I did not check my email?! I wish I didn’t get the email because it gets worse from there. It was pouring rain and completely cloudy with NO chance of seeing the lights but since they wanted to keep our money, they would not give us a refund and we had no choice but to go out on this outdated impersonal ship. It went like 10 minutes into the harbor (still close to the light pollution from the city) and just sat there. Then a very very creepy guy kept awkwardly talking into the loudspeaker about his family, chanting the happy birthday song just in case somebody had a birthday, and reading poetry he wrote. This was a horrible horrible experience and the trip should have been canceled!! Do not use this company, they will push you off onto other operators. When I emailed them after to ask for a refund, they said that weather can change and they didn’t know. That is garbage. Scam!

Turned up at the departure point on our ticket at exact time stated to be told the tour had been bundled with another company leaving from a different location on the harbour and the boat already left. They offered no refund or reschedule. The woman at the kiosk was nothing short of belligerent. Instead of trying to help us she just kept wanting to throw blame our way for not turning up earlier. The Northern Lights didn't show that night anyway so we missed nothing except the £200 they refused to refund. What a scam. Your better off booking boat tours with a bigger reliable operator that runs their own boats from their own pier than this tinpot outfit

Worst night of my life. The boat holds over 500ppl. Its FREEZING. The tour guide/speaker spoke absolute nonsense for over 30mins that you cant enjoy any peaceful time in the natural waters.
Having spoken to many people on board, everyone couldn't wait to get back. The tour is way too long and extremely uneventful (especially when you don't see the lights). DO NOT do this. It's simply not worth it and just a cheap experince of nothing.response / report this review -

Got there 10 minutes early for a northern lights cruise and they sent us on a walk to another dock and another cruise line . The directions were not clear and we went to the wrong boat and missed the tour. Will see if they give us a refund or another tour.

The guide/host had a great sense of humor. The outing had a guarantee on seeing the northern lights, which we did experience, though the brightest full moon I've ever seen washed them out considerably. Due to this we were offered to reschedule. Hopefully we'll visit again during a new moon. Overall, it was a nice [cold] boat ride.

The whale watching tour with this and other companies should be called "a water trip with a varying possibility to see a whale". We saw one from really far away and a guide called it a "descent sightening". Not too much for 80 euros The pictures and videos you see on the prospects can be taken once in a year. Not recommended: there are many more better ways to spend your time and money in Iceland.

I can’t say enough good things about the Reykjavik Sailors trip I recently took. Everything was top notch…from the friendly and knowledgeable staff, to the cleanliness of the ship and the warm jumpsuits were top notch. We were a group of thirteen adults and boy scouts and no one was ever bored. The cruise we took included whale watching and fishing and included dinner on the return trip. They hit on each; we saw several whales, caught a bunch of fish and got to enjoy them in a hearty meal with vegetables and potatoes as we headed back to port. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking to get the nautical flavor of Iceland in a 3.5 hour tour. I’d do it again…

Definitely the right company to go whale watching! The staff is very nice and friendly and they give out a small intro (very informative!) about what species you might see. And their boats are not crowded! Since we didn't see any whales the first time around, when we came back to shore, we requested to come back a second time and they promptly gave us a ticket to come back the next day (the ticket is valid for 2 years but luckily we had planned for the possibility of not seeing any whales the first day). The second day we were greeted by a whale that decided to follow us for a while. We got plenty of great photos!

Had a great time. We did the sea fishing and caught loads of fish. The sea was very flat and we saw loads of Minke whales (wherever you looked) We saw quite a few humpback whales - their tail came right out of the water ( although whale breath stinks !) and porpoises. Astrid ( the tour guide) was very knowledgeable and a great host. The staff cooked us up a feast of haddock, cod, mackerel and a monster 5 ft Pollock .

Awesome tour, we saw wales and dolphins. Very nice people, giving you suits and pills for sea sickness if needed. Go and enjoy !

We saw so many whales! It was amazing! They said it was one of trips with the most whales they have ever seen! Such a great birthday present.

Absolutely amazing! The thermal suits provided were very handy (as were the free anti-sickness tablets) and just added to the experience. All staff were so friendly and welcoming but the main skipper who provides all the information was just great, so informative, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate! For me he made our whale watching tour what it was. There was only a low chance of us seeing whales due to the month but we were so pleased to see them, and compared to the other companies our boat was the only one that waited around to allow us more sightings of a Whale. Highlight of my trip, would highly recommend Reykjavik sailors.

Didn't get to see the Northern Lights given the heavy cloud cover, but our pass is valid for 2 years! Handy. The boat ride is romantic and the guide is very personable. Go out on the deck and catch yourselves some shooting stars!
