Came here due to lost while finding the gas station (actually on the other side of the road ), very friendly staff, clean restroom, and cozy in the snow day. Just ordered coffee, a little pricy, but this is Iceland.

Food was really good and the owner was very friendly. He also explained Icelandic Meat soup which I was skeptical before, had it here and I really liked it.

If you are in need of gas(petrol) this is where it is at.
It is also the only location I could tell that had bathrooms (WC) in the area.
They are very clear that they are for customers only, so bathrooms start at about 450 ISK for a coffee. I took an espresso, standard from the machine, 500 ISK.
My wife came along and ordered a crumb cake that was quite tasty at 1000 ISK. She really enjoyed it. Real food starts closer to 2000 ISK.
We opted for the food truck Fish & Chips for the 'real food.'
This is the red building with two 'peaks' of a turf roof just past the gas pump of the picture. If you are coming from the trail from Hellnar, turn left upon arrival in town toward the stone statue. Go past him and the parking area to the road and turn left. It is 100 meters at most up the road.

Très joli petit endroit ! La soupe aux champignons et le hamburger sont pas mal. Accueil sympa et cadre charmant.

Only restaurant within ~100 km (?) so make sure to get there before it closes for the night! The servers were very kind to give us mushroom soup after closing time.

Enjoy a beer, admire the landscape, chill and repeat.

Cute traditional building! The food is ok, but you can come here to see inside of the Icelandic house.
