We have walked past here a couple of times and it always seems busy.
In true Icelandic style the welcome was warm and the service a delight.
We skipped starters and went straight to the mains. The pizza rated highly but the Spaghetti (pasta and meatballs) was lacking. Average sauce, a couple of the meatballs were overdone..
All in all not a bad experience but we have sampled far better Italian meals here in Reykjavik.response / report this review -

Great food and great service, turned up about half an hour before closing and they couldn't have been more accommodating!

Delicious. Iceland is costly so we really looked around for someplace we knew we'd like. After all was said and done this was our favorite meal in Iceland. Flavorful and nice size portion. Would have enjoyed more with wine but too expensive to drink in Iceland. If that is not an issue for you, cheers!

Lovely Italian / Pizza restaurant.
We ate here on a Thursday night after a day hiking on solheimajokull glacier, we were plenty hungry.
It's a quaint restaurant on Reykjavik's main shopping street. There is plenty of choice on the menu and it's priced similarly to most of Reykjavik's town centre restaurants. (Not cheep at about £80 for a meal for two, 1 alcoholic drink each a shared starter and pizza and a pasta main). However the service and food was good, our waitress was friendly, attentive and full of smiles but not hovering over our shoulders. The food was excellent my partner had the cannelloni and I chose the 'unpronounceable volcano' pizza as my main, it was artwork as well as a meal with the toppings concealed inside the base that was more calzone and looked like a volcano!
The restaurant was busy but we did not feel hurried or crowded and it was a lovely end to a fabulous day. Highly recommended!response / report this review -

If you're in Reykjavik you must visit this place. Servers are so welcoming here. The ambience, people, place is full of warmth. The food is super amazing too. It is charmingly old school and beautiful.

Fantastic Pizza, great seafood pasta. We wish they had more pasta options as 5-6 is limited. Great atmosphere in the middle of Reykjavik.

The visit at this Italian restaurant was slightly disappointing if I‘m honest. We consumed a Pizza di Mare and Spaghetti with Meatballs. The pizza was rather thin but everything but crisp. It was very soft and thus not so enjoyable. Flavorwise it was ok. The spaghettis were ok as well but nothing special.
Unfortunately the waitress forgot to bring the asked parmesan cheese. The staff in general could have been friendlier.
We paid 3‘490 ISK for the pizza and 1‘890 for the spaghettis. The location looked nice.response / report this review -

Easily some of the best food I've ever tasted in a restaurant. We came for a late lunch (around 2/3pm). Delicious risotto with lobster tails, lamb and tiramisu. My son had mussels, lamb and creme brulee. All tasted delectable. The prices are a little high but that is Iceland. Just plan well before you come here and indulge, it's worth it! We'll be back in the summer.

Alright restaurant with noting out of the ordinary Italian food. Prices are quite steep considering its pasta. Cozy environment and friendly staff.

Food is OK. Too salty for us and too salty compare to other restaurants in the area as well. Ordered 5 dishes and all are on the salty side.
Place is nice. Clean and tastefully decorated. Service is excellent. And good variety of food choices.

Large variety of pizza (Napoli style with the thin, stone oven baked crust). Nice to see some vegetarian options. I had the mushroom with goat cheese. Would have preferred the mushrooms to be cooked more, but was still tasty. Great beer too!

Wonderful service! Delectable food! We want to go again for the fish plate. If there is a wait, hang out in the stylish upstairs lounge. Just watch your step going up!

We arrived later in the evening at Primo. The place was very busy, but we were quickly seated in the middle of the restaurant. Other patrons, that were sitting at a window seat, left shortly after we were seated. Our waiter approached us asking if we would like to move there which we greatly appreciated. The service throughout the evening was excellent.
The food was even better. I had the "Frutti di Mare" dish with a delicious variety of seafood, and my wife had the "Avocado salad" with salmon. The dressing on the salad was superb; tasting of fresh avocados and lemon. We capped off our meal with "Panna cotta" topped with fresh raspberries. My girlfriend and I decided to visit here, but we wish we hadn't bothered. We both ordered the lasagne, but where mine was very nice, hers was very dry and totally different.
The waitress serving us was also very rude and this was the only low point of all of the restaurants we visited that weekend. They did subtract her dish and a beer I had from the bill, and we were given a different waitress who was very apologetic and pleasant.
I'm giving a 3 as my food was really nice, but the meal was sullied by a rude waitress and my girlfriend's food being dry.response / report this review
