  This place was really hyped up by a few online reviews, but our visit was quite unpleasant. The food was mediocre, but the staff was extremely rude. We were rushed to order, even though the restaurant didn't close for another 1h30 and if we needed anything, we had to walk to the bar to ask for it versus our waiter coming to our table. We had 100x better experiences at other Icelandic restaurants and would encourage you to skip this one.

  Cool old world pub atmosphere. Some good options for pizza, but most are a bit different from what you might expect (if you are from the US). However, it is a bit expensive unless you are already acclimated to the cost of living in Iceland (look it up it may surprise you).

  Holy moly, what a place! Their korean chicken is so tasty I know I'm going to dream about it tonight. Their pizza is really good, and even their herbal tea exceeded my expectations.
  
  In addition to the amazing food, the staff was very friendly in spite of a miscommunication we had around what we ordered.
  
  To top it all off, the place is beautifully designed.. a combination of old western movies, burning man and woody allen - as if the place itself were hipster.
  
  It's not the cheapest place in town, but not crazy expensive either, and to us felt like it was worth every penny.
  
  You should definitely check this place out!

  A can't recommend this place anymore! First night in Iceland and as a vegetarian I wanted to play it safe but with a twist. The cheesy chips were incredible. The best chips I've ever had. I had the creamy potato pizza and this carbs galore was delicious.

  Kinda confusing, I think the pizza restaurant is on the 1st floor and there is another establisment on the 2nd floor with another name ( mikkeller and friends ), tho I'm sure they are both under the same management, anyway, the pizza was good that we ordered, we kind of went basic, because there were other choices that we weren't familiar with, beer choices and other menu options ( small plates ) looked adequate, service was average.

  Just ate at Hvercisgata 12- best meal yet in Reykjavik! Better than Grillmarkedurinn! Casual pizza and small plates. Great staff and service. We had olives, carrots and kale and French fries from the small plates menu -all 3were excellent, particularly the French fries. For pizza we shared the spicy sausage, the Gorgonzola pizza and the pulled duck pizza. All were superb- I am unable to choose a favourite . We had one full pizza left over- will enjoy it tomorrow. 2 pizzas with the small plates would have been enough for the4 if us, but how to choose!! Will definitely return if I am in Reykjavik again.

  So very delicious but a bit hard to find. Split two pizzas and enjoyed cocktails off of the happy hour menu. The atmosphere and service are lovely. Highly recommend as a place you must see!!!

  Can be fairly difficult to find this hole in the wall; but the pizza here is unique and very tasty! Can be a bit on the pricey side though.

  Algorithm: to find the best restaurants, go down the side streets, or the streets 1 block on either side of the main drag. By so doing, you will find, sharing a building with Dill restaurant and Mikeller & Friends, Hverfisgata 12. Once inside, you will notice that, even in midsummer, your fellow customers are speaking Icelandic; that the pizzas are rather good, especially when you add salt and green garlic oil, and perhaps a dash of red pepper oil; that the beer is good, and the smoky Brittany cider even better. Next time, you resolve to get the spicy fries with melted cheese and mayonnaise on the side, that the couple sitting across from us were getting.

  This restaurant does not deserve even one star. Horrible. We were told it was a half hour wait for a table- the server told us to have a drink upstairs and she would come to get us. She never came. When we asked about a table, an hour later, we were told there would not be one available to us. Not a good representation of Icelandic hospitality.

  Looking at other reviews, it's entirely plausible that my experience was a one-off, but none of my party were particularly impressed with our meal here.
  
  The pizzas have unusual toppings, though this in itself should not put you off. I imagine that the available combinations are are all fantastic when executed well ― I just found the pizza to be barely seasoned (perhaps even a little flavourless) and the base to be a bit thick & soggy. I also found the space poorly lit and noisy.
  
  If you're looking for pizza, there's at least one Italian restaurant very close by with, in my opinion, nicer pizzas (albeit with less adventurous topping combinations) at a lower price.
