Expensive! We found some identical souvenirs in the capital at half the price! Nice book store with a cafe. They also have some beautiful books in English and not all are about Iceland. You can also find souvenirs here although we found them to be expensive like everything here 😂

Lovely old fashioned (in attitude, not decor) bookstore in Akureyri - knowledgeable staff, great range of books in English and Icelandic (and German and French), good coffee and even acceptable tourist tat. And I got a terrific book as a present.

The "Te og kaffi" coffee house, an Icelandic mini-franchise, inside the store is perfect when traveling with children. There are children's books and a play car that keep the children occupied while you can read one of the many magazines sold there. Don't expect too much of the food, mostly croissants and cookies but good coffee and tea (the name of the café is Tea and Coffee in Icelandic)
