Lovely traditional cafe with great coffee. Mostly locals and without the tourist theme so common in Reykjavík. Good coffee and a limited line of bakery options. Well worth a visit.
Been coming since I was 7 or 8 years old. Love the vibe, decor, waffles and the people. Highly recommended.
My favorite waffle and espresso cafe to visit in Iceland. Waffles are delicious and served with jam and fresh whipped cream. A must visit cafe when in town.
Such a warm and cozy spot to stop for a coffee! The drinks and food tasted great (definitely try the waffles with jam and cream), and the staff was friendly.
Nice café. Great vintage vibe. Fun photo op to recreate the John Grant album cover
Mokka is one of the last remaining vestiges of old Reykjavik. They have a limited menu, but this includes waffles that you can just slather and fill with whipped cream. I would recommend getting these waffles with the tea, which comes on its own tray complete with gigantic tea pot and creamer. I can't remember the last time I was served a "decently sized" pot of tea! Read more at "Mimi's Cake Tour"
Delicious waffles and Swiss Mocha here. A quiet and peaceful place to visit.
Waffle, coffee and latte at mokka is amazing! Waffle looks plain but possibly the best waffle I've ever had!
Cozy. Center of city. Good cup of coffee. More room inside than many coffee stops in the area.
Mokka Kaffi is the most cozy coffee place of all Reykjavik. You must taste the waffles and the capuccino
This is the only authentic coffee house in Reykjavik. The interior is exquisite, and under "conservation" from the city of Reykjavik so it cannot be changed. The coffee and cakes are great.
Good coffee, comfortable interior design, tasty cakes and waffles. Most of staffs in Reykjavik are not friendly. And most of them are foreigners on working holidays, but the staff here are friendly and seems to be local people.
I'm a huge carrot cake fan and good ones are hard to come by. I'm so happy to say their carrot cake is amazing here! I love the warm, quiet atmosphere here. Perfect for reading the paper, catching up with a friend or refueling.
Yummy Waffle with cream and jam. Awesome coffee, and a great low light quiet coffee shop.
Very similar to a starbucks, it is a commercialized place with very little character. If you like starbucks then you will feel right at home.
A wonderful and charming little place in the centre of downtown Reykjavik! Fully recommend it for its great waffles, atmosphere and the experience of visiting the oldest café in Iceland.
This was our first stop in Reykjavik and it was exactly what we needed. Delicious coffee and tasty sandwiches. This was my second favorite coffee shop in the city, but had the best cappuccinos and lattes in my opinion (I'm more of a black coffee kind of person).
Coffee was nice enough, but the space is a bit dark and very old-fashioned in a non-cosy way. Good choice of plant-milk options though!
Cosy place, a bit dark and kind of Soviet era canteen style look, but coffee was ok. Good choice of plant milks, pity no vegan desserts :(
Great stop after a long flight. Solid expresso and good sandwiches.
Lovely hot chocolate. Came here on a John Grant inspired trip. Didn't disappoint.
Lovely cozy cafe with nice coffee, I love their waffle!!! It's so good!
