Quick and friendly staff helped us out with a small problem with our rental from Keflavik. We were impressed with Lagoon's rental experience across our whole 2-week trip to Iceland.

We highly recommend this car rental agency! We rented a 4X4 car (Dacia Duster) in mid-March, for 10 days, and received great service! The car was ready and waiting for us. When there turned out to be a problem with the trunk door, which we told them about in the evening, when we were already very far away from Reykjavik, they immediately sent someone first thing in the morning (three hours drive away) to give us a replacement. The car wa sin great condition, and every question we had was answered, and in the end, when we gave the car back, we were given a lift back to the city, to our hotel, so we didn't have to take a taxi.

Warning, these guys will charge you >1000 euros for a small minor scratch you wouldn't even consider repairing on you own car (and several such minor scratches were present on the car when we first took it). Even with the excess (~700 euros), that will double your rental budget for a one week rental. Also, poor pick up service at the airport. Edit : the car was not even repaired but resold. There where half a dozen minor scratches on the car when we left it (by the end of july). Multiply this by a minimal 700 euros/scratch, and you get an idea of the economical model of the business.

I bought total insurance pack. After little scratch got to pay about 700euro plus to ordinary packet price. So don't mess with them. Or buy separate insurance from yout land.

Rented a Kia Sportage for a week in the fall of 2017. The service was very friendly. The car was nearly brand new and worked perfectly during my stay in Iceland.

My friend Damon and I had a fantastic experience exploring some of the wildest corners of Iceland throughout our 24 day mission to capture some amazing visuals. If it wasn't for Lagoon's amazing service and support we would have had a tough time completing our expedition. Approachable customer service with a really nice team who will get you on the road in no time!

Lagoon Car rental was the best option for our trip to Iceland! We hada very comfortable car and the rental/signing it out process was quick and easy! We loved having bluetooth in the car so we could listen to music, in car Wifi and GPS. We never got lost and enjoyed up to date information (weather and town locations). 100% recommend to anyone renting a car in Iceland. Will use again, when I go back :)

Excellent car rental experience, from airport pick-up to Reykjavik drop-off. Perhaps we could have found something cheaper, but certainly not better. The SUV (Mitsubishi Outlander) was newish, comfortable and very capable. While we didn't drive F-Roads, we took many secondary gravel roads and were glad to have 4WD. This Icelandic company seems to have hired many young Icelandic people for the summer, and we were glad to help support the local economy. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I would urge anyone wanting to rent a car/SUV in Iceland to use Lagoon.

Terrible experience at return. I bought the full insurance coverage. They charged me for a new windshield because of a chip. Unbelievable! When I rented the car the woman said their was a chip on the windshield, but she couldnt find it. Everything was perfect in Iceland except the car rental.

Great experience! We rented a car for a week and a half from them. A representative greeted us at the airport promptly after we landed and took us to the office location which is at most a 5 minute drive. After getting checked in we got the car and was good to go! Car ran perfectly fine. When returning the car, the representative noticed a scratch that was not documented on the paperwork. To see if it was my fault or not, she spent some time in the system and asking other employees if it existed before our rental. Confirming that it did, we were not charged thankfully. Highly recommend them!

After a lot of research for my first holiday in Iceland, i decided to chose Lagoon. First of all, the office is open 24/7 for check in/check out. Amazing service, professional and the cars are just brand new. I chose to rent a Dacia Duster, and while i was checking in they told me they upgraded me for free to an amazing Renault Kadjar full option. What else to say? If i will be back in Iceland i know where to rent the Car again.

We hired our small Kia from this company. Everything went smooth, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The company is situated not far away from the airport, so they pick you up at the airport and bring you to the airport when you return the car. Highly reccomended!

We rented a Suzuki Jimny and it turned out to have very bad wipers, which made it very difficult to drive in rainy weather. Additionaly, the liquid to clean the windshield was empty from the beginning, which made the problem with the wipers even worse. Picking up and returning the car were not better: in the first case we were asked to go outside and check out the car on our own, and after that they just gave us the keys without explaining anything about the car (which fuel to use, options about filling it up upon returning it, instructions about the traction system since we found out later that the car could be driven as 2WD or 4WD, etc). When we returned it there was one memeber of the staff: when we gave him back the documents and the keys he didn't say anything, he kept chewing his gum and then left without saying anything. Turned out he went outside to check the car. To conclude, the staff was unprofessional and not welcoming. I think the next time in Iceland I will try another car rental company.

Poor experience all round
We arrived 11:30PM expecting a Lagoon representative to meet and us at the arrivals, there was no show. I had to purchase a SIM card to call, and when I did, there was no apology. When they finally arrived, the van was too small to accommodate everyone, so a few people had to wait in the airport while the rest were driven to the local office. Check in process was incredibly slow, there was only 1 person in the office. BE WARNED like a lot of the reviews for car rentals in general, minor scratches on body work and windscreens are chargeable, so you have to be thorough in your initial checks. Bodywork and windscreens!!! If at night, make sure they drive the car to a spot where there is better light!
Car return was a real nightmare, and because of our prior experience, we made sure we left enough time, and thank god we did. There were 2 people on reception, but 1 lady, rather miserable, was dealing with a broken down car. The return queue started to build up, round 5 of us, but nothing, not a peep to apologise for the wait. There was a couple picking up their car, but it wasn't cleaned as yet, and this was the same story when our friends picked up their car from Lagoons city office. The pick up time was close to 30mins!!!
All in all, we found Lagoon to be unorganised, unprofessional and I would NOT recommend them. Unfortunately the rating on google is incorrect!!!response / report this review -

Open 24/7, come to pick you up at the airport and drop you back there.
