Excellent solid meals - probably the best food we had in all of Iceland. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff.

So our night started here and these bartenders are out of this world with their skills. Imagine if Kyrie Irving made cocktails instead of crossing people out, he'd work here. The food was good too and they have a large seal painted in the bathroom which I think is fun. It's a bit high end though so you better be ballin if you come thru.

Can only give it 5 stars sadly.
Great food and menus but pricey. Wines are good too. Can be busy, recommend you book beforehand. Highly recommended, will visit again

Kol is probably where I've randomly eaten the most expensive meal in my life (even made Sydney's fine dining restaurant prices seem relatively cheap!). Yes, we randomly entered this restaurant after taking photos around Hallgrímskirkja. It was winter, cold and windy and it was the first place we saw. Nevertheless, I can definitely say that it's worth it. All the dishes we ate were amazingly delicious. So, if you ever find yourself around Reykjavik and considering splurging on a certified delicious meal, go and eat at Kol.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Pricey, but everything in Iceland is. Only wish we could have all ordered what we wanted- if you have a large group you all have to order the same set menu.

Nice vibe, and comfortable yet upscale. We had the Fruta di Mare, which was delicious in every way! We supplemented it with the potatoes fried in duck fat. It ended up being great for two people, and wasn't too bad on the wallet. Also had their "Donkey" drink on special. It's expensive because it's Iceland, but worth it!

    Fantastic food and great service!

On our last night in Iceland we stopped in for bite and drink. Although they were busy we were able to sit at the bar and have a bite and drinks. The bartender was very talented and was pleasant to talk with while we were enjoying the evening.

I was running late and didn't make a reservation, the boss let me have a seat at the bar.

This place is incredible. Obviously the owner and chef take great pride in each plate. Not a foodie, but the combination of ingredients caused a party in my mouth and I was the only one invited. Ingredients all meshed together in a bouquet of awesomeness, truly magical eating experience.

Service staff was awesome, expensive place but we'll worth it.

The tasting menu with wine pairing for my dinner at Kol turned out to be the best meal I've ever had (bar none, no exaggerations). All of the ingredients were fresh, the flavors were AMAZING!, the cocktails and wine pairings were delicious and to make things even better, the service was phenomenal (cordial, attentive, funny, courteous). You will spend more on a meal at Kol than perhaps another option but it will be well worth it and you will not be disappointed by the portions or quality!!!

Very pricy but we are in Iceland ;) The menu is great and we enjoyed the food very much. Unfortunately our waiter seemed not to be well trained who had very little knowledge about the menu. A fine dining restaurant should have done better with their staffs’ knowledge since I consider it impacts part of dining experience.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCES. I would give you guys 100 stars if I could. We've been here 4 times in our 5 days trip in Iceland, and everysingle time with you guys is amazing. Food is awesome especially the foigas and duck breast. The staffs are very friendly and the guys at the bar are very funny to talk to, customers service are great. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. x

Fantastic restaurant with wonderful service. There was a bit of a mix up at the beginning in which our cocktail drinks came after our appetizers but the host took care of the issue and was incredibly attentive afterwards. The presentation of the drinks was incredibly cool (dry ice in some - one served in a glass tea pot) and the food was one of the best I have had in Reykjavik. Definitely worth going to.

We ordered started with the risotto and seared tuna. The risotto was under cooked and the seared tuna was cold. The would prefer the tuna cool and not down right cold. The mains that we ate Beef 2 x and Sauteed Cod. Both beefs were not overly flavorful and the cod was too sweet.

Perhaps we ordered the wrong items because in general this place has some really good reviews.

Fantastic atmosphere with superb quality food. Decided on the tasting menu with was 3 starters, fish dish, beef dish and desert for a total of 6 courses. Cost was about $100 per person but worth it. Lots of excellent restaurants here but this one stood out.

A fantastic restaurant right in the heart of the city. Easy to walk to and find if you're in the area. It's expensive, but so is everything else around it. The food is excellent, but not sure it's worth every penny it costs. The service is a bit slow and there was no real attentiveness from the staff, but none of the negatives weighed heavily enough to bring it down to a four star review.

As a carnivore, I just love meat at its best and Kol Restaurant is another awesome place to get it. Tender, filled with so much flavor melting in your mouth is the way I like it. Sourced from a local farmer makes the hole experience also sustainable, which speaks to my heart as a scientist. And by the way, the tuna as starter is great too.

Unbelievably great. We just walked upon it while most reserve in advance. The fish was great, cooked to perfection. And the veggie steak was absolutely the best.

Best restaurant in Iceland! Very nice presentation, however, it's pretty pricy for students. We had one three courses and one main course for CAD$177. But I think it's worthy to try the local food of Reykjavik. And the food was amazing!!!

Astonishing. Some of the best service I've experienced in a restaurant. We sat right by the open kitchen, able to watch our food prepared in real time. Food was delicious. Absolutely worth a visit.
