Good coffee and really nice place but unbelievably expensive. So much so that I got clinically depressed. A vegan burger was €27 euros. TWENTYSEVEN! Beef burger €29 - I had 5 people to feed so we left after coffee. See my American Style review

Casual atmosphere. We ordered the fish of the day and were disappointed very small portions of food left us hungry after the meal. I mean how much do potatoes cost - tiny side of over cooked potatoes.

Service way too casual, the tiny portions meant we finished the food in 5 minutes but the dirty plates were not collected from the table until just before we left 30 minutes afterwards.

The price of the food was not warranted for the quality or the service provided.

The white beer was very nice but this was most definitely the highlight.

Right nextdoor to the local pool, great for an after 'dip' coffee and 'sugar hit'! Don't tell the tourists (except my friends) too many will spoil the 'local' atmosphere! The lamb is REALLY good!

Marvelous! The catch-of-the day was fish with white wine and capers, served with sauteed potatoes in a balsamic salad. The mostly local clientele adds to the welcoming atmosphere and unique decor. The vintage vinyl record play works, but one needs to avoid the (donated) Ann Murray albums to keep everyone's appetite functional.

Nice menu, and vegan friendly (though less so for breakfast.) I had a delicious oat milk mocha, and amazing hummus toast. I would have liked to come back for dinner and drinks.

Really good coffee and pastries, right down the street from our BnB. Laid-back vibe and outdoor seating, too. Seems like a good place to come drink coffee and work on a latoo, which we saw people doing. The menu was in Icelandic and I was a bit intimidated, though, so we only ended up ordering food we could point to.

Great snacks and dishes with cold beer. Tasty organic beans espresso. Spent some time relaxing and reading the local newspaper after visiting the geothermal/ hot springs pool across the street.

The place has the nicest people working here! The coffee, food and the best people make this a fantastic place! We were here everyday while we were in Reykjavik. The people here went out of their way to help us out! A very special place for my husband and I!

Gorgeous place with always lovely staff. Beautiful choice for any time of the day. Oat latte and croissant in the morning, cauliflower soup or the vegan burger for a late lunch, Einstök on tap with rosemary fries after work, You really can't go wrong with Kaffivest. My friend loves their Sara cakes too.

Coffee was ok, a bit on the lukewarm side but that could have been a fluke. Food seems pretty expensive, but it was a nice place to sit and do a crossword nonetheless.

The buttery, flaky, still-chewy-in-the-middle croissants! My husband devoured two and a half of them in a matter of minutes. We stumbled upon this gem while on our way from our cute little cottage airbnb to the Reykjavik city center. Everything about his coffee house is adorable, including the customer service. When we returned to Kaffihus the second time, we asked for more croissants and they were sadly out. Thankfully, the guy at the counter simply pulled out another tray of croissants to bake.. just for us!
