Awesome location, clean hotel but really weird room setup.. shower and the bathroom are at opposite ends of the room. Didn't like that at all

Room was clean and in good condition. Couldn't reach them by phone when I tried two times. Weird considering there was people at the reception when we arrived later.

Clean, and comfortable rooms. Hotel is located a short walk (with a long, steep hill) from the town center, and is right next to the city pool. There rooms might have a view of the ski mountain or fjord. The hotel restaurant is decent (they accommodated me as a vegan.) There is a bar at reception were we had cocktails they also serve espresso and are open long hours (until 1 am) I stayed with my boyfriend in January.

Goddamn brilliant hotel. Great rooms, nice toiletries, friendly staff and the most reasonably priced lunch menu at Aurora. Cheapest and nicest lunch we had in all of Iceland if you ask me (don't include hot dogs and fast food stands of course).

Pleasant hotel with ample parking, and a short walk down to the city centre. Room layout a rather strange with little privacy to shower and toilet.

Excellent hotel in Akureyri. Managed to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights the hotel offers a free call if the northern lights have a good probability for the night. The restaurant was good and prompt for dinner, and an excellent breakfast in the morning.

Great Hotel. Very clean and staff were very pleasent and imformative. We reserved a room with a double bed and unlike other hotels that just tossed 2 twin beds together, this hotel actually gave us a proper double bed!

Really good hotel in Akureyri. The views from the room are great. On a good night, you can see the northern lights right out of the hotel and also at a park near by.

Hotel was very nice, trendy and bright. We got the wrong room during check in time and I didn't notice. With the short stay, 1 night, hotel brought this up when I checked out and gave me no problem.

The Hotel is good and deserves 4 stars. Friendly staff and clean rooms.

What is very disturbing is that a couple of guys drive through the streets with extremely loud cars. They do that all night long. Such a quiet little town.. ;((

Very nice hotel. Best shower we had the entire trip! Quick walk to downtown restaurants and right across the street from the local pool. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for acoomodations in the area.

Great location allows quick walks into town and access to some great restaurants. This was the best laid out room from all of our stays in Iceland. Plenty of storage and room to hang out. Also, a single mattress instead of two twins smashed together. A big plus for our honeymoon!

We splurged on a suite and couldn't have been happier. Not much of a view, but the design and size of the room were great. Otherwise the food was good if not a little pricey, but that is expected given the hotel and the area.

Nice clean hotel. 10 minute walk from the central area with a lot of restaurants and shops. Room was very clean and convenient. Concierge very helpful during our stay.

The only drawback for this hotel is the massive hill you have to walk up every time back from the town center. It's probably a 300-400' elevation change. It is less than a 10 minute walk but it's a heckuva hill to climb.

Otherwise, this hotel is perfect. We were able to view the Aurora Borealis from our huge windows over the mountains. The shower is outstanding as well, great pressure. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very well kept.

They have a breakfast buffet every morning until 10:00. A great spread with plenty of food options to load up for a day of hiking and adventures.

Stayed in five Icelandair hotels throughout my Iceland trip, with this being one of them. It was definitely the busiest and largest of the bunch, considering it is in the second biggest city in Iceland. I would say it is your typical 4-star hotel, with most amenities available. 4 stars because the only meats offered for breakfast are pork products, you need to pay for faster wifi, and there was no gym. Would stay here again if just for the view of the sunrise above the mountains - absolutely breathtaking!

Great price for a super clean updated and modern hotel. Lots of lux amenities. Breakfast was amazing. Perfect location for exploring the Akureyri area.
