This is absolutely a beautiful hotel. It is a really old building but they renovated it really nice. The rooms are very nice and look great. Breakfast is included in the price and is very good. If you are in the area and looking for a place to sleep, this is a place you won't regret.
They also have a restaurant with a variety of pizzas. They tasted quite good!
Room was clean. The facilities in the kitchen were used or missing, but we managed to cook anyways. The reception was great and the hotel itself offered a good view on the town.
Value for money. Last minute booking done last night due to emergency. Receptionist was very accommodating. The ambiance was really nice. Rooms were warm and good sized bar area. This place also has function room. Close to a pier/harbor the hotel overlooks a snow-capped mountain.
Such a splendid and cozy little hotel! Great staff!
Good place to rest after/before Akureyri
We stayed in the guest house for a night. We had a good stay.
The room and toilets were clean and well kept. There weren't many people and we got a bigger room than expected. Very friendly and helpful staff at the hotel reception where we had to check in and out.
The kitchen area is relatively big but wasn't very clean and not too well equipped. Some basics like towals for drying the dishes were missing.
Beautiful views. Clean and spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Very Friendly service!
The rooms where great. Food was ok. Would come again.
Nice place, good views, nice staff 👍
Best place to stay. Make sure you dine at their restaurant.
An okayish place to rest in the eastern side of Iceland. Bathrooms are common. A very quiet place. Has a nice common space to sit, talk and relax. Has a functional kitchen too. Has parking space for cars.
We stayed two nights at Hotel Framtid in June 2017. It was nicely accomodated and a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the ammenities of our unit and of course the area is beautiful. Our only negative comment would be in regard to the WiFi signal. It cut in and out. But, if that's my only complaint (and it is), clearly, it wasn't a big issue. Definitely would stay at Hotel Framtid again!
Very new renovation, perfect view to the harbour. But one bed room and one living room for 5 people to rent is not comfortable.
Jamal (Luxury Travel Camel) and I stayed at Hótel Framtíð for the night of 23 June 2017. The hotel has a wonderful location overlooking the harbor right in front of the hotel. The hotel is situated in a lovely fishing village, allowing you the opportunity to spend some time watching the boats or wandering around taking some really good photo's.
The hotel is designed in the form of a log-cabin, a unique and interesting concept that I really like. The rooms are cozy, slightly on the small side, but quite adequate. Like many of the hotels at which I stayed in Iceland, there is no shower door, which is fine since I found those showers with doors quite small and uncomfortable. I get the impression that the space between the rooms is small and not well sound-proofed since you can clearly hear your neighbors when they are being a little noisy.
I had dinner in the hotel, having made a reservation upon my arrival since I was informed that the restaurant is quite popular with the locals. The food was good and well presented. The staff are friendly. What I don’t understand is why a hotel of its quality has plastic sheeting on the table. Surely the perception of quality by the guest outweighs the laundry bill associated with having decent linen on the table?
The breakfast in the morning was in a large dining hall, almost like a school dormitory. The selection was adequate without being wonderful. I took the opportunity before breakfast to walk around the harbor taking photo's as well as to the local statue in the park alongside the hotel.
Wi-Fi – the connection was OK but could be improved. Perhaps a few more routers closer to the end of the passage.
One thing that surprised me at EVERY hotel at which I stayed in Iceland, unlike any other hotel at which I have stayed around the world, is the lack of a porter service to take your bags to the room. Fortunately this wasn’t a problem for me but may be an issue for other guests.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, the hotel is in a lovely quiet fishing village and is of good quality. I enjoyed my stay at Hótel Framtíð and would choose the hotel if I found myself in the area again.

Excellent quality of rooms, food and staff. Thoroughly recommended
Airbnb'ed this place. Decent cottage. Only downside was the limited amount of hot water. Had a very small hot water heater. Only 100 liters
So cute and secluded. good staff; ask them what to do in the area
The hotel looks nice, we visited only the restaurant tho. The food was very nice.
Superb! Great atmosphere. Nice rooms, good food, friendly staff. Perfect
It is truly a great place to stay. Free fast Wifi with rooms cozy and pleasant to stay; its worth the money. Antique design yet modern. Diner here has excellent main dish! My wife and I plan to revisit here in summer next time! If I knew there were tours to Papey island sooner ..!
Stayed at the hostel, not the hotel. It had a nice Public area with a kitchen, tables, and couches. The rooms had bunk beds with very comfortable mattresses. There were also nice private showers and free wifi
