  This was such a beautiful spot to see at sunrise. The waves, the beach, the cliff edge, the grave, all well worth the hike. Be cautious, it's a short hike but a steep one.

  Views over the sand plains.
  Steep and rather difficult trail up.
  Decent parking area.
  Pretty bad gravel road to the parking area.

  Hjörleifshöfði is a good place to stop on the Ring Road in Iceland. The black sand south of the big rock / mountain is a fascinating an peaceful place. Shortly after you turn you will reach a small parking lot where you also find a path to the top of Hjörleifshöfði and a picnic area.
