Great place for a camp. The trail to Fláajökull begins in the camp, information boards along the way
Love love loved this place! Affordable, clean, chased sheep, hiked the glacier and slept incredibly well. It's off the beaten path, but well worth the drive! It was way better than the tourist trap a mile up the road.
As of October 6 it is closed for winter. Bummer! Looks nice though
Very nice and clean campsite. Bit wet grass area, be careful where you put the tent
This was one of our favorites campsites in Iceland. It is in a remote place very close to a beautiful glacier, it has 2 toilets and no shower. However, it costs only ISK 1000 per person. Keep in mind that it doesn't have reception and you need to bring cash to introduce it in a black box that is in the toilets area. There is a nice hiking from there to the glacier, that starts in the tents area. We highly recommend this place!
quiet, cheap, out of the way campground with clean WC. only a couple other vehicles here when i stayed. lots of sheep hanging around. you might feel like you’re driving into the middle of nowhere since there isn’t a lot of signage, but just keep following the road after you turn off the highway.
Such a perfect, quiet little campground. Off the beaten path and doesn’t have a shower, which makes a great secluded area for camping.
Make sure to bring cash, 1000 Kr. per person. Some reviews said the road was tough but I made it in a small car just fine.
Wow what an amazing place. Best campsite of the trip! :) Very clean and tidy, but make sure you take cash to pay because otherwise you are unable to!
Lovely campsite about 45 minutes from the Ice Lagoon. Do note that there are NO showers only toilet and sink. Most of the people here were locals too. Be respectful of the surroundings and pay the donation in CASH.
Hands down our favorite campsite on our trip to iceland. Slightly difficult to find so make sure to keep the gps coordinates in mind.
The equal best night sky I've ever seen! I come from Australia out in the bush, and when the night sky is so clear you can actually see the Milky Way..life memory. There's probably a few places like this but man I hope they keep the tourism under control and the big companies out to protect such beautiful places. Great self serving facilities too 👍🏽😊
Very quiet and nice camping site. Price is very reasonable. 2 restrooms are available. No showers no WiFi.
Beautiful silent campsite with beautiful scenery. It was not the cleanest one we had but the nature is totally worth it.
Lovely little camping. A must-have for nature lovers :)
We really wanted to stay at this camp ground. The scenery is amazing and it looks really well kept. The only problem is that it's cash only and the owners don't speak very much English so we couldn't ask if we could pay in the morning after getting cash (we arrived after dinner time)
Remote quiet camp for hikers. Only water, toilet, bbq. 1000kr per person. Glacier walk 5km return from campsite. Bring charcoal for the bbq. Only for adventurists and nature lovers. Recommended.
We were the only ones at this beautiful campsite! No showers, wifi, kitchen or heat in May, but great setting just below the glacier. Good hiking opportunities from the site.
Empty campsite, beautifully quiet and empty. Toilets and sink, no shower, peaceful and an honor system donation box. Gps/google maps directions are a bit off, but if you use the exit one stop further west you will find a blue sign posted, second left off the road.
