  A bit difficult to get here but coming from the south you can make it even in a small car. It is a bumpy ride but it’s worth the beautiful view. It’s also not as crowded as Dettifoss, so you have nature and quiet all to yourself.

  Un luogo da sogno, complice la quasi totale assenza di turisti (venendo da sud, sono circa 50 km di sterrato, quindi non è per tutti). Il canyon si srotola in tutta la sua bellezza e la cascata non ha nulla da invidiare alla ben più famosa e affollata Dettifoss. Dappertutto chiazze di rosso dovute ai minerali ricchi di ferro che compaiono come chiazze rosse in mezzo al verde dell'erba, facendo pensare a tagli fatti con il coltello nell'erba viva. Un paesaggio da sogno. Attenzione al vento che qui è decisamente molto forte. Il percorso di accesso al parcheggio non è agevole, e richiede un po' di abilità nella guida sulla ghiaia, sia in salita che in discesa.

  50min hike from Dettifos (beware: rope section, pretty easy if you re used to otherwise better not improvise) you'll enjoy this jewel most probably by yourself.

  This smaller waterfall will give you a slight taste of what you will experience at Dettifoss. The lookout is high above and provides broad views of the East Highland's plains.

  We viewed this from the west side up on the cliff. There's a small parking lot and a little mountain you can climb up on. The waterfall is wayyy down below you but it looks pretty cool. Worth a stop.
