Big hotel with heated pool and whirlpool. They have the typical Icelandic happy hour which includes wine! The hotel has a restaurant but there are one or two restaurants or bars within walking distance. The rooms are big and clean.
Polite and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent food in restaurant. Only downside was insufficient coffee & creamer sachets.
It's very good nice rooms and common room safe good however they could due with updatading the chairs and some of the common room things as they are old and dirty .
Not what you would expect from a large hotel. Early 80s feel. Nice heated pool, hot tub and sauna.
Hótel Örk has world class facility from dining to then geothermal steam sauna. Drinks at the bar at average isk prices. They offer happy hour from 16:00-18:00 with specials for $5.00 Boli beers @ 5.3% Alcohol. They have a world class banquet hall that cost about $90 for 5 course buffet style dining with live music. The front desk.reception is very accommodating - they send up spare blankets and ring you hotel phone when you are able to see the northern lights from outside Hótel Örk! My personal favorite about this place is the steam sauna hut. The sauna is powered by Geo thermal which provides a unique natural detoxing feel for relaxation.
Hotel Ork was awesome for the price the facilities are great, and breakfast was good. Shout out to the night desk clerk, who was super helpful with our bags and gave us directions to a great spot for beer and pizza.
Nice hotel nice small town
Located in the beautiful area of Hveragerdi, the hotel is comfortable and staff is very kind
We stayed at Hotel Örk for one night in April 2017. The room was comfortable. The tv was a little old..but we weren't there to watch tv:) Unfortunately we couldn't use the swimming pool because we arrived there too late. It looked good.
We had dinner at the hotel and it was really tasty. Best burger I've ever had. The service was also very good. And the price was ok for Iceland.
The buffet at the breakfast was good too. There was all you could wish for.
Thank you for this great stay☺
If you are thirsting for a trip back to the 70's at a place that is unmaintained partially clean with casually poor service. This one is for you.
They seem to have spent a lot of money and effort on the foyer and their logo's but forgot they are a hotel and not a stable.
Prepare to have the mood set after your shower with the entire room turns into dog pee aroma therapy, and the ensuing hunt for the odour.
The music is full volume till 2am and be sure the windows will not block a single note. Some good window side fights in the car park below. While drunk people yell and honk their horns to lull you to sleep.
Making a call to the front desk is a Russian roulette sort of thing where if they answer and that is a definite IF, you will wish they hadn't, because they definitely cannot be bothered to help.
They also have some lovely dungeon rooms in the basement for the particularly unlucky guests. Luckily we were on the top floor so we took the cadaver sized elevator with its suitcase faded carpet up and as we entered the room we wished we hadn't.
Wifi seems to be on every single bus and corner in Iceland, yet this hotel seems to only have what feels like 1996 dial up in the reception. The rooms have ornamental wifi, as in the signal is there, if you stand on one leg and swing your phone from the charging cord above your head at the correct frequency, and if you do ever connect, network error is their specialty service.
The best thing about this place was leaving it and going to an incredible local greenhouse eatery around the corner.
I do not know why Icelandair work with these people but they should definitely reconsider as every other hotel we stayed at was top notch.
Just avoid this place if you have a choice.
This hotel is horrible, dirty and loud. Avoid.
The rooms were dirty and smelly with old carpets all around the floor that looked like they had been there for decades and smelled the part.
During the night we barely slept as there was so much noice and fuss all around. The stuff was not really helpful and seemed like they didn't care at all about complaints.
Finally in the morning, the breakfast was cheaply made, coffee was bad, the bread was stale and the juices came out of machines and tasted like they were overloaded with sugar.
Overall a horrible stay.
Ayo wagwan ay the ends were proper solid Innit fam I rate dat proper fresh
I was there with a group of students and obviously as group we had a slightly different experience than individuals. The hotel is nice and just across the road there is a supermarket and next to it a bakery where you can try geothermal bread.
The swimming pool and hot tubs are great. Food for groups is not that good even though breakfast was much better than dinner.
Too many groups of students all at the same time and some of my group's room where facing the pool therefore they had some noise issues.
