A warm and welcoming hotel in a dramatic setting. Incredible thermal hot springs heat hit tubs in the grounds of the hotel. Magical.
Food was outstanding! Hot tubs are perfect! So perfect, last night we could see the Northern Lights from them!!! The geothermal stabbed rye bread is a special treat!
All in all, STAY HERE! Just do it. Don't think twice about it.
The room was really nice and had a great view of the River. The hot tub was great and very relaxing after a long 4 day backpacking trip. We chose to eat dinner there and it was superb (they cook the food geothermally). I also enjoyed their breakfast buffet. I only wish we could have stayed longer
Wow, I'm not sure what to say. This place was incredible. The location was magnificent. Just 5 minutes down the road from a lookout spot with great views of the northern lights (season permitting). There are a couple natural spa's outdoors for guest use. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We had plans that required us to be on the road before the kitchen opened. We contacted the staff ahead of time and they had a small meal prepared for both of us to take with. So helpful!
I'm not even going to try to review the meal. The restaurant here was unbelievable. The walls are all glass, with views overlooking the nearby river. The food was fantastic. We are doing everything we can to find an opportunity to come back to Iceland. We'll return to Frost and Fire without a doubt.
The cuisine in the elegant dining restaurant must be the main draw. The beds are extremely comfortable and the ceiling to floor windows offer great views (albeit views of the sky are bound by the close proximity to the adjacent hills). The hot tubs and pools at the rivers edge are inviting, but could be warmer, as could the dry sauna. The room is well appointed but the common spaces deserve some attention to maintenance.
Great food and service. Price was reasonable for Iceland, although plan to spend roughly $60-80 USD per person.
We had an amazing stay here for 2 nights. The thermal pool, hot tub and sauna are a small walk away from your room and we saw the northern lights! The restaurant is brilliant, try the cod and carrot cake!!
Quaint hotel, amazing location with natural hot spring hot tubs and pools. The restaurant had the nerve to put risotto and scallops on the same plate, the two hardest things to cook. Whelp, he nailed it. Big foodies, I'd go again.
Beautiful spot with geothermal hot pots next to the river. Lovely restaurant on site and you can walk to a few restaurants in town as well. Hot springs cooking is a thing in this area, since it’s built over a volcanic chamber.
Stayed here May 2015, best location if you have a car because you can drive to all the main places in like an hour or less. either way apart from that everything is really nice here, highly recommended and would deffo stay again
We loved it here! When we originally booked this place I thought it was a bit pricey, but worth it for the amenities. After having traveled around Iceland a bit, Frost and Fire is seriously worth every single penny. The breakfast alone would have run us about €90. The weather wasn't great when we were there, but the pools, spas, and sauna were still enjoyable even if it was very windy and raining. I can't even imagine what it would have been like with a clear sky and the Aurora! The staff was also wonderful. We were separated from a member of our group and left a note for them with the front desk. The staff took care of our lost member quickly. I would make the Frost and Fire my home base if I ever get the chance to visit again. Loved every second there.
Great location. Comfy rooms. Good facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. Superb food.

Very nice, quiet hotel. Food was very good, recommend trying anything cooked in the hot springs. Nice walking areas nearby, great views.
Loved their food. Beds and rooms were very small. Elf beds. Beauful location with a lovely stream and path to the town. Have Happy Hour at Skyr gardin. Trout was great.
Great hotel and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Loved the fact you could swim in the river then jump into a hot tub. Our room was very clean and a good size. Some fittings starting to show their age and need a bit of attention, but nothing major.
Small rooms. The location is incredible and the food is fantastic. We had the lamb and the duck and both were cooked using the geothermal kitchen.
Quiet, clean, cozy, relaxing and lovely staff. Highly recommended if you need some rest and relaxation. The restaurant serves great food. There are 2 large outdoor hot tubs and 1 pool. Beautiful view.
Lovely hotel. Restaurant serves delicious food, often cooked using the hot springs which abound in the area. Hot tubs are available and the room was clean, tidy and comfortable.
Nice place, near Golden circle. Restaurant is great.
Went for dinner as this restaurant was highly rated on TripAdvisor. Had the 3 course menu. Arctic char to start was lovely, lamb and potatoes for main was okay - the potatoes were very very dry and luckily we had some butter left over from the bread. Dessert was absolutely heavenly - a mix of cake, ice-cream and mousse. Staff were helpful. The dining room was quite dark though and we couldn't really see our food! Nice setting however. Quite expensive but it's fine dining. Overall I would recommend.
