Good place to stay. All the $150-$200 places in Iceland seem to be pretty similar Overpriced, motel-type settings that give you basic accommodations. This one is no exception.
Huge, spacious and modern rooms! It was real surprise walking inside compared to how the building looks from the road. The views and beautiful and a great location for the golden circle. Breakfast was included and was help yourself. We didn't eat here in the evening because the prices were stupid, so we ended up having an amazing pizza down the road at Skojul Cafe.
Hotel has a big car park and spacious lobby. It's very well located, along the Golden Circle route. A very nice and luxurious place with very friendly, helpful and kind staff. Delicious breakfast buffet with variety of foods, fruits and drinks. Amazing restaurant with selection of meat and fish dishes, pasta, salads as well as delicious desserts and alcoholic beverages. Unique interior design makes this place very elegant. Great spot to see the Northern Lights. Very fast wi-fi available and free. Good price for the quality. Recommended place.
We were skeptical looking at the outside of the place, but it is extremely modern and neat inside. Clean rooms, large windows to (ideally) see the aurora. The restaurant has top notch food.
Dinner is pricey ($25-$45 an entree) but delicious and perfectly cooked. Breakfast, which is included, is just as tasty and very diverse.
The absolute best part, though, was the night manager's dog which hangs out while he's working. I heard her called Pauchi, but it's entirely possible that that's very wrong. She's a big, friendly black doggo who hung out at my feet for an hour at night and ran around outside chasing birds during breakfast. There was a tour group from China that took turns eating and taking selfies with her.
Would love to visit again.
Really lovely hotel in a private setting, very close to the falls and geysers. The hotel is contemporary; the room is comfy, clean, and bright. The staff is very welcoming, courteous, and helpful. Breakfast is included and delicious. Dinner was not included (of course) but incredibly fresh and tasty. I highly recommend staying here if Gullfoss is on your list of places to visit while in Iceland.
Picture is the view from our room.
Hotel Gulfoss is a great place to start an Icelandic adventure. It is remote enough to allow excellent nighttime sky visibility, and close to many popular natural attractions. The staff are very accommodating- we arrived very late due to flight delays, and were in our room in less than 2 minutes. The breakfast is very nice and the facilities clean and new.
Great hotel, nice clean rooms, very helpful friendly staff and they have a very friendly dog to greet you. Good breakfast as well
Small, isolated, very kind personnel. Located nicely if you are on your way to cross Iceland through to the north.
Really nice hotel! Located near the Gullfoss Falls and the Geysir. Has it's own restaurant but the food isn't that great but not that bad either. 4/5 Stars.
This place saved my life! I was stranded and they offered me coffee and breakfast for very cheap. They usually don't serve complimentary breakfast to non-guests. Great views, very compassionate staff
Clean, new, but restaurant has no choice
This hotel is lovely. Quiet, tucked away in a little corner close to the nearby waterfalls.
The rooms are a good size, with plenty of suitcase storage. The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable with a reasonable en suite wet room.
The bed is comfy, the curtains are heavy and there are plenty of USB/plug points. Customer service is good, as is the WiFi. A win all round really.
Perfect location with great rooms. Food was excellent but a little pricey
Nice cozy hotel right next to the gulfoss falls. Large rooms, funny-looking modern bathrooms, friendly staff. There's also a restaurant there (a bit pricey though). Definitely recommend!
Recently renovated very nice with brilliant breakfast. Very close to gullfoss too
