nice receptionist and quiet place.very natural place since some mosquitos and flies can fly into bedroom even all door and Windows were closed..

The hotel itself is older, however it was very clean! Our room was freshly painted and also had new flooring. The shower had really good water pressure. All the water smells strongly like sulfur but that’s normal and to be expected for the area. The staff was extremely accommodating! Everyone wanted to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The manager gave us a lot of really great recommendations of where to stop a long our way. Francesca was such a sweetheart and also went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was simple but fresh. They had a good variety as well. All in all I’d stay here again.

I chose this place based on clear skies to see the Northern lights. It was very reasonably priced. I was worried that it would be a dive. What I found was a no frills, basic room with a wonderfully friendly staff and cozy bar and restauraunt. I could see the northern lights from our room window. Fin, who I believe is the manager of this family run business was so helpful and welcoming. The chef, Totti (I cannot remember how he spelled his name) came out and chatted with me while I photographed the aurora light show. I felt at home there and I even called Fin and asked him for assistance when we later got stuck in a storm after leaving hotel. I really liked them and if I ever return to Iceland I will stay at this hotel again.

Very pleasant service. Clean room. Large bathroom. Free breakfast. Easygoing checkout policy. Retro Bistro restaurant had pretty nice food, and a very friendly and helpful chef.
Not much to do in Blonduos, but a decent stopping point to rest for the night.response / report this review -

When we pulled up, I will admit, my first thought was: what did I book!? But everything on the inside is wonderful, the rooms are spacious and clean, same for the common areas.
This was our 2nd night in Iceland, after traveling from the states, and the exhaustion hit us, so we slept through breakfast. The manager not only let us sleep, but also brought out breakfast for us, and suggested we change our route to Akureyri to take a more scenic drive which was amazing, precarious (to put it lightly) at times, but well worth the extra timeresponse / report this review -
