This was truly a trip of a life time!!!
We spent 13 days (12 + 1 extra) driving around this wonderful country visiting most of the recommended places, without any boring moment. The temperature was about right, from -3 to +7 degree celcius. But the windoh how string! Once the maximum speed reached 70 kph. But it was fun!!! I had only little previous winter driving experience, but the conditions of the roads were good enough, and there were not many cars out of Reykjavik. One only needs to be very careful and makes decent decisions.
The days were long enough to visit places and the nights were great for Northern Lights. We saw this amazing phenomena 6 out of 12 nights. One night, it was so strong that we were able to take pictures with Samsung Note 8 in automatic mode, with clear picture of our faces too!!!
We visited national parks, volcanos, geothermal areas, glaciers, waterfalls, geysir, lava fields, black sand beaches, etc We also took many optional tours, which made our schedule to be rather full. But they proved to be worthwhile. Where else can you snorkelling between two continents, hiking on a glacier, visiting ice cave, lava tube cave and watching whales? What one needs to do is a lot of homework beforehand and rearranges places and time of how to visit. The places in the itinerary are not always in the order where you can go. And you do not have the time to see them all, especially with optional tours previously mentioned.
We upgraded to the luxury car and quality accommodations. All were OK. A few comments are that the room at Foss Hotel Glacier Lagoon was very small. And at Seydisfjodur, where there are four different locations of the hotel Aldan buildings, we should have been informed before arriving. Actually, we knocked on one of the buildings door without any answer, so we needed to give the hotel a ring for their instruction.
In Iceland, there was no bell boy. So you'd better pack a few small bags rather than a big one. The food tasted great. The portion was large in most places. The price was on high side. A lot of fish, seafood and meat, little vegetable. My favourite were smoked lamb and horse meat. The tap water tasted great too, in fact, the best ever.
Overall, our experiences during the 13 days were far beyond expectations. We have been travelling to several countries, including part of North Pole, Amazon jungle and African dessert. Iceland is so unique that this trip will be a favourite in our fond memories.

Our experience with Guide to Iceland was predominantly positive. The package we opted for (7 day, self driving tour) was well organised, straight forward to follow. We travelled during peak season - March Break - so it's likely the overall cost was a bit more than the rest of the year. E.g. our SUV (Toyota Land Cruiser) was about $1600 CAD. Knowing that, and the cost of a few of our accommodations, it felt like a rather high premium for their organising the trip on our behalf. Additionally, as we made some customisations to our tour, some of those changes didn't quite take effect or operate as smoothly. Some insights were given to advise, others were ignored, leaving us feeling again, just a bit less taken care of for the premium we paid. For us here in Toronto (Ontario, Canada), I might recommend looking at alternative options like G Adventures to cross shop. Regretfully, we did not, opting for local expertise, which in the end, we felt like that could've been a bit better. The experience of having explored this beautiful country was hindered for a day, but otherwise, the rest of the trip was reasonably smooth. I believe for those who have never been to Europe, or experienced a smaller country with a bit less infrastructure, more advice/hand holding of the experience, what to expect, etc. would've been appreciated. That's where I felt the service was less than stellar.

We joined two-day tour. The trip was fantastic and the price was worth it. Our tour guide, Vala and driver,Bardi were so nice, kind and friendly, which made us very comfortable. Only thing we didn't like was the another tour guide for the ice cave. She was irresponsible since she walked too fast to tell her to slow down and confirm if we are following under the constitution that we had a man has difficulty in walking in the group. The cave was very beautify through the camera. Thank you.

Embla, our contact at guide to Iceland, was so helpful. She responded very promptly and clearly to any questions I had before and during our trip. Everything went off without a hitch. I'd never considered booking a package tour before but guide to Iceland made the whole process so easy that I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Best travel agency it town! I went to the down town office in City hall, after passing by the other tourist offices on Laugavegur. Guide to Iceland gave me best prices on a Golden Circle tour and even gave me a awesome folder with post cards and maps of Iceland.
Thank you for making our time in Reykjavík so great!

Guide to Iceland is a dishonest tour agency. While we booked a tour, "free cancellation" statement showed clearly twice, without mentioning any special terms and conditions. After booking, the confirmation letter didn't show any related terms either. Later on, when we tried to cancel it for free within 24 hours of the trip, neither on the website nor the agency allowed us to do so, because according to them, "we do not mention anywhere that you are free to cancel at anytime. "

It is true that later on we found out the specific terms is in the page of terms and conditions, but in my opinion this act of only showing partial information is deceiving, as few people would actually check on terms and conditions before booking, and especially seeing twice clear promise of free cancellation.

Simply try to avoid this agency.

Awesome 3 day winter Ice Cave tour! For anyone thinking this sounds expensive - it's totally worth it, do it! You get to see some incredible sights away from the tourist masses. The South East is truly beautiful and our guide David K made the trip a lot of fun, with loads of added extras that weren't in the main itinerary - he's very knowledgeable about the history of the place and what not to miss once back in Reykjavik. Highlights from the tour were visiting the ice cave, seeing the iceberg lagoon and doing a glacier hike - you will love Iceland!

I had an amazing two day tour with Lydia as the guide. She was very knowledgeable about Iceland and did a great job of sharing her knowledge with us! We were able to do everything on the itinerary and even stopped at several places not on the trip plan including a secret glacier and waterfall. We had plenty of time for picture taking at each stop which does get crowded. The highlight for me was being able to see the northern lights at the wonderful hotel after day 1. The picturesque setup with the lake and mountains made it perfect. The second day were able to see the glacier lagoon and go into the blue ice caves. Truly a special experience and one you shouldn't miss! I highly recommend this company and the two day tour!

This tour is a must do when visiting Iceland. The Itinerary was well thought out and the price was very fair. I must say that the guide and driver made the trip what it was. David was friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to go above and beyond. One of the best guides I have ever had the privilege of touring with. Our driver (Bjortney) was also kind, knowledgeable, laid back, and very safe and experienced. Top Notch Guided Tour!

Couldn't recommend this tour more! What a wonderful trip!

First off, our tour guild Rebeca Franco, was the absolute best! She was super knowledgeable of Iceland and its history. She knew it all! She also made sure our trip was the absolute best it could possibly be on all fronts. From the food, to the sites, etc. She really made sure it was special. On our first day we got hit with a storm, so Rebeca re-routed our trip to make sure we got ahead of the storm and were able to see all the things on our list, plus some! She made sure we hit everything at the right time so we never felt like there were crowds. Each place felt like it was private for our group. During one of our meals she even took the time to teach us a traditional viking game called Hnefatafl, which we of course had to buy before we Left Iceland and have not stopped playing since we have been back. Our group was super small (5 of us plus Rebeca) so it didn't feel like we were a "tour group".

It was truly a wonderful vacation and we can not wait to go back!

This tour is a must-see! Highlights of the trip included seeing glaciers (and hiking on them), black sand beach, and beautiful waterfalls. Everything was so picturesque, and the days were jam-packed with many sights to see. Our tour guide Oddur was awesome! So friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and very helpful in sharing other sights to visit for the remainder of our stay in Iceland. I couldn't have asked for a better guide to take us around. Thank you again for such an unforgettable trip!
