Worth the visit, sightseeing just amazing. Allow plenty plenty plenty of time to get there and to the other huge Waterfall near by, about another 20mins drive. Fabulous!!!

This is amazing. Recommend bringing wellies if you want to walk in side because you balance on small stones or walk straight in the water to come in side the cave to experience the waterfall. But it's so worth it!
We visited in November so it was all snowy and icy outside.

You just crawl through a hole to see the most incredible view. Like travelling the time. Amazing adventure. You can also climb a 10m high rock and see it from above - bonus: great view on the landscape.

This was one of the best waterfalls we saw while driving the whole ring road. The cave was beautiful and unique. You will have to walk on small rocks, so consider you footwear. We both ended up having to stand in the water to allow children to pass us, so our feet got soaked even with hiking boots.
Do not attempt to climb to the top unless you are in good shape and/or an experienced hiker. You will need to use chains to pull yourself up and two narrow boards placed as a steep makeshift ramp. It is not for the faint of heart, especially going down.

A really neat, not-as-known waterfall. It's beautiful and lush all throughout this area. It's cool that you can go inside the little cove-I opted not to since I had my camera with me, and it would've been been drenched. An older man decided to venture inside however, and did not return for about fifteen minutes(perhaps he was having some trouble?) I'd be very careful if you do decide to go inside.

It's a cool secret spot that reminds me a bit of the scenery in the Legend of Zelda.

Amazing waterfall inside a cave. You can step on rocks and walk inside the rock cave, right under the water fall. Amazing experience, but be prepared to get very wet and cold. All worth it, though. Really incredible.

Beautiful waterfall hidden inside a cave. You have to walk through water or on top of rocks to reach the inside. Once inside though it is amazing.

Probably my favorite waterfall in Iceland, but maybe that's because I got to experience it all by myself, while everyone else were visiting the neighboring waterfall. Depending on how high the stream is, you can balence on the rocks and explore in, or, ditch the shoes, roll up your pants and explore no matter what. It's so worth a stop in either way!

Less touristy then it's larger neighbour and you can park for free! In early October the ground was very soggy so required walking boots to get across to the path, although later we found a way round on the gravel. Beautiful.

Not that well known, and 500m away from the "main attraction" this waterfall requires some effort: either a steep climb not for the faint at heart to watch a steep and deep drop at arms (well, probably 10 arms) length, or wet feet and be INSIDE (not behind -- inside!) the waterfall. The daring are well rewarded!

Stay at the campground and refresh yourself with a walk to the falls in the morning. All of the other reviews about needing waterproof gear are true; you will get wet! An unforgettable experience and worth the effort.

Gljúfrabúi is an exciting place to visit. The small crack in the berg leads you to a small open cave with water running as a waterfall inside the canyon. It is a magical place only a few steps from the popular waterfall Seljalandsfoss.

You must go inside the cave to feel the power of the waterfall. Be careful tho, the way in is through a small river, so you'll have to hop from rock to rock. Also the mist from the water fall will get you soaking wet in no time, so be ready.

The waterfall is falling into a small cave, which you can actually go into. I recommend having waterproof boots and waterproof clothing, but atleast a waterproof jacket.

This was an amazing experience, standing in a small cave with a waterfall. It gives you an amazing view!

TL;DR: Absolutely amazing waterfall, but wear waterproof everything if you're going into the cave (which I highly recommend).

This was probably my favorite waterfall of the entire trip. Going into the "cave" and seeing the waterfall up close and personal was amazing. It was an experience I will never forget. It definitely makes for some great photo ops, too.

However, you're going to get soaked if you go into the cave. First, you need to walk through the small river or hop on rocks to get into the cave, so waterproof shoes. Once you're in the cave, you get drenched form the waterfall itself, so waterproof outer layers. The mist from the falls has nowhere to go in the cave, so it's everywhere. A waterproof housing for your camera/phone would also be recommended.

I went in with waterproof boots and a rain jacket, but I forgot my rain pants like an idiot. Luckily, I was wearing water resistant hiking pants, which held up well enough. I still recommend rain pants if you have them. The experience from inside the cave is worth it.

Visited in March 2017. You MUST walk into the cave and see this waterfall up close. It's not dangerous. Just watch your step so your feet don't get too soaked. Loved it!!

You must stop here!! In some ways it's more amazing than the main waterfall! You have to walk through a crevasse and you will get wet but it is absolutely spectacular!! Do not skip this stop!

I think all reviewers are in agreement that this place is spectacular but you will get soaked if you want to enter the cave at all. You will also most likely need waterproof shoes as the creek takes up the whole entrance and I highly doubt you could get in and out without getting you're feet wet. Definitely worth it though!!! I also recommend scrambling to the top to look down into the cave. It is a struggle after some rain because it gets muddy but it is an amazing view!😍👌

Truly magical place! We traveled all around the world and this waterfall is definitely in top five of our favorites. Go inside the cave and see it up close. You will get soaked, but the experience so worth it. Also you can climb the hill on the side to get a good view into the cave.
