The best! Best meal I had in Iceland. One of the best I've ever had anywhere and I've been around. It's buffet style at big wooden tables so if you're stuffy, this may not be the place for you. If you want great (mostly)seafood in a casual authentic setting, this is the place for you. Go hungry and dig in.

It was closed when we went there but we were able to walk around. It was very educational to read how Erik and his family were traveling to the United States before Christopher Columbus and Europe.

The house can be seen from outside without having yo pay (around 14€/person).

This was brilliant. We got lucky as they were having new photos done for their website so everyone was dressed as Vikings. We sat around the fire in the longhouse and heard great tales of Eric the Red and his son Leifur and their discovery of America and Greenland. And beautiful scenery too

Lots of good historical context given for Leif Eriksson, and quite a beautiful spot on the slope of a mountain with a small running stream, washrooms, and a picnic table. The recreation turf hall looked nice, but the site of the actual ruins wasn't very well kept, and it took some digging through the long grass to actually find it. A little more information at the ruin, and the clearing of brush would help immensely.

A really impressive and interesting re build of a Viking longhouse. Definitely worth a short roundabout from the main driving routes
