stunning, stunning and stunning surroundings. And you can find a hot shower! First time also that we were so cold in our rooftent. But worth it! Did also a trip to the crater, first part by car (4x4) and second part on foot. Lots of snow! Also did a trip to the heated river.
you need a 4x4 to drive here, thus due to the faact you need to cross some pretty intense small rivers/streams. You could do this with your motorbike, but be sure to keep your footing.response / report this review -

This is a nice mountain hut with good kitchen facilities. You can choose if you want to rent a bed or pitch a tent outside. There is shower for additional fee.
The wardens and park rangers are very nice. Do not hesitate to ask them question, for us they helped a lot.response / report this review -

It is sooooooooooooooo nice to have a HOT shower as a bicyclist in the middle of nowhere. Facilities are good and clean and this even furthermore considering how remote this location is. Rangers are very helpful.

Ottimo punto di ristoro e ricovero dopo una strada lunga e tortuosa per raggiunge Askja. Da qui partono molti sentieri per raggiungere i due crateri con i laghi di acqua calda dove è possibile fare il bagno.
