Absolutely fabulous place to stay. All mod cons, immaculately clean. Attention to detail was impressive. Staff very helpful and close to city centre and marina. Definitely stay there again.

Very nice place. The suite we stayed in was very spacious and clean. The decoration was modern and you even get a nice balcony to look out from. They also include two board game for the room. Only negative was the heating didn't seem to work for the kitchen and living room area. So it got kind of cold at night. Otherwise it was an amazing place to stay.

Beautiful apartments and friendly staff are just the tip of the iceberg here. I arrived about an hour early for my checkin and they took me right in and offered me hot coffee and a snack while they verified my information. And the private garage definitely made parking a breeze considering the parking in downtown Reykjavik can be a nightmare.
Overall, a very comfortable stay with all the amenities you could hope for. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a welcoming and relaxing stay in downtown Reykjavik.response / report this review -

A hidden gem. This is by far the nicest hotel in the city and ideally located by harbor and walking distance to shops, restaurants, harbor, boating. These are apartments with kitchen and living room so you can actually save money and walk to super market as we did. Highly Recommended

Very well designed and comfortable modern apartments. Full kitchen. Radiant heat. Fancy lighting control system. Staff was low-key and unobtrusive, but very gracious, helpful and accommodating when engaged.
The city center of Reykjavik is a couple of streets which run roughly parallel to the ocean. The Black Pearl is at one end at the bottom of the hill, near a spot with lots of "gringo" friendly restaurants - all of Iceland was friendly to us though. Downtown is totally walkable.
Hot water in the building is geothermal well water, smells lightly of sulphur (farts) after a shower. That's how they do it in Iceland, why waste fossil fuel heating water when you can just stick a pipe into the hot water that comes out of the ground for free. Pretty cool.
I would stay here again without hesitation.response / report this review
