Nice place to visit. The 2 waterfalls are near each other and within a minute walk of each other. There's a restaurant nearby that sells food and some souvenirs. There's WC here too. Comparatively, the Hraunfossar is a better one in my opinion. Good place to visit.

This was a very powerful waterfall, but the view is blocked by rocks. It looks more like a very choppy river. It's pretty to see if you're in the area or already at Hraunfossar. The walk is easy with a paved walkway.

Another gorgeous waterfall alongside Hraunfossar, there is a bridge where you can go across the Hvitá River and enjoy the view from a different perspective.

The phenomenon amazing. The site is nice to walk through and there are wooden platforms and bridges to help enjoy the place. But, at the end it is basically another waterfall. So go if you have the time.

Not one of the grandest waterfalls in Iceland but certainly beautiful, nonetheless. You can take the trails all around and explore freely, no matter what time of day. It's not an enclosed area so there is no time limit for you to explore. You have a great vantage point when the sun is out because then the many colors of the waterfall come alive. There is also a surprising amount of flora and fauna here. Parking is free and there is a cafe just off the trail. If you want to use the bathroom there, you will have to pay if you are not a customer of the cafe. When I visited it was around 2 ISK. Warning about the insects. If it is hot when you are visiting this place, bring bug repellent and a protective head net. The "flies" known as midges, will come out and "get" you. They can really swarm depending on the season and temperature!

Totally different waterfall, but nice too.

A Hraunfossar közelében, a Hvíta folyó felsőbb szakaszán található. Szó szerint „gyermekek vízesése” (barna = gyermekek). A szűk sziklák közé szorult víznek igen erős itt a sodrása.

Számos izlandi népmesében olvashatunk erről a vízesésről. Az egyik két kisfiúról szól, akik a közeli Hraunsás farmról jöttek ide, át akartak mászni a víz felett álló természetes kőhídon, de mindketten megszédültek, megcsúsztak és meghaltak.

A fiait sirató édesanya átkot szórt a hídra, hogy soha többé senki ne kelhessen át rajta. Az átok megfogant, és nem sokkal ezután egy földrengés romba döntötte a hidat.

Télen, amikor hosszabb időn keresztül 0 °C alatt van a hőmérséklet, gyakran természetes jéghíd keletkezik a folyó felett a sziklafalakra fagyott vízpermet következtében. Sokszor mesterségesen is elősegítik – kötelek kifeszítésével – ezt a folyamatot, így teremtve közlekedési lehetőséget a folyó két partja között.
