Great facility, definitely worth going to relax and recharge.
Great place to relax and see how the locals spend the day. Everything is very clean and it's has a very good variety of pools and saunas. It's around the 1000 ISK.
Quite reasonable price (900 ISK, discount for age under 18 and over 66) for public outdoor swimming pool
And it opens from 6:45 to 21:00 on weekdays
9:00 to 18:30 on weekend
So it would be excellent for both Akureyri citizens and tourists.
Two hot spa 38°C & 43°C each (quite cozy, max. 8 people) for the elder
One cold bath (maybe 4°C?) tube for 2 persons
One steam bath (wet sauna, also cozy)
Huge slides for the younger
Kid zone (extremely swallow pool for infants)
And also 25m lanes for swimming
Everything is in there
So All you have to do is taking your swimsuits and towel (Rental is charged for 800 ISK for each, Entrance with both rental swimsuits and towel is 2000 ISK)
One last thing you must remember:
The special coin given from the reception is used for only one locking.
So if you once open your locker after the 1st locking, you cannot lock it again since the coin is used (I went to the reception back for asking another one)
So take all your necessities including shower tools (open shelves in the shower place)
Remember - One coin for one chance
P.S.
After I went to the whale watching tour in Dalvik, I was really exhausted and worn out.
It was completely by chance going this pool because I saw it over my hotel room's window and searched it in Google map's Review, found that it opens until 9 PM
I saw several whales' tales and also their jumping today and the guide staff said it is extremely fortunate.
I didn't believe it but it was actually :)
Great swimming pool! Crazy slides, nice hot tubs, and clean facilities.
Nice, well-maintained pools and facilities, in a variety of sizes and temperatures. Unfortunately, a number of tubs and slides were closed when we were there, but it seems they are upgrading many of their facilities.
Great facilities. Pools of different temperatures, swimming and non swimming lane areas. Sauna, plunge pool, good set of slides and areas for young children.
Love the swimming pool in Akureyri. Looking forward to see the new things
Cost 900 isk for adult entrance. Seeing as a beer is often 1000, it's one of the rare reasonably priced things in Iceland.Bring your own towel unless you want to pay 800 to rent one. Water felt wonderful and even on a cold day I was able to hop back and forth from the hot tub to the lap pool. They are doing major construction building water slides, but every pool remains openjust no grass to lay on during the construction.
It's a good place to relax at and meet the locals and tourists alike.
Like any Icelandic pool, facilities are top notch, about as cheap as anything gets in Iceland, 900 for an adult and stay in as long as you like. They have a 25m pool with swim lanes and diving stands (competition type) and another smaller pool. There is a also a hot tub type small pool.
Every time I go to Akureyri I go to this pool. Looking forward to going next time :)
The absolute best place in Akureyri. If you are visiting the town you MUST NOT miss this place.
Overall a great swimming pool with everything you would expect, two full size pools, two hot tubs, one with a must try water massage and also a nice shallow pool for younger children and two slides for kids and adults alike. A must stop by for all visitors in Akureyri.
