Nice garden with a convinient acces from Tarjish roundabout, entrance is reasonable and the café id also nice. Recommended.

So much history here and well preserved. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Amazing place. Iran was a very nice place and honestly, couldn't feel more safe and the complete opposite of what the media portrays Iran to be (as is always the case). Went with my wife who is not Iran nor Iranian nor had she ever been and we both had an absolutely amazing time there. Iran was overall very clean (yes lots of car pollution, but no rubbish on the streets) and it's especially the people that made it awesome, just amazing hosts. The food is amazing and the fact that everything, food and drinks are made fresh, simply awesome.

Nice palace complex to visit from the Qajar dynasty up to the present Shah period. There is a mix of modern old but you can feel the that hey wanted to do something majestic with the place (spot the mirror room) and they succeeded.

Interesting palatial contemporary architecture of which there are not many examples. Also gives you a feeling of what was the modernity in Iran a few decades ago.

I preferred Saad Abad Complex for a more complete feeling for the opulent royal lifestyle, plus Niavaran was built to bring in modernity, which for many Westerners like myself is not something unique any more. I was told Niavaran was picked over a lot by the royal family when they fled Tehran and also by looters. That being said, the bathrooms seemed to be untouched and I really enjoyed seeing the royal children's stickers and personal touches in their suite of rooms. The gardens (with many tall and old trees) were nice to walk through and the nearby Niavaran Park has a kid's playground, for those with families. Niavaran is easier to walk than Saad Abad, but if you had to choose one, I'd recommend Saad Abad to Niavaran any day.

Other than visiting the palace, having a breakfast in the cafe is a must! Great food and outdoor space. Some staff were not friendly though.

the palace and general admission are worth the money, as the interior is in perfect shape. All in all, the park is good for calming down in this pulsating city and the palace is a good demonstration of monarch's life in pre-revolution Iran.
