  It's a mausoleum of a great leader. The importance of this place is not less important than the mausoleum of Lenin. The mausoleum or as they call it marqad is haram, which means that someone very important is buried there. I've always liked the idea of haram.
  Women must wear chador. And the rules here are strict.
  The mausoleum is huge. It is covered with lavish ornaments. Its roof is tall. There are many pilgrims who want to touch the zarih or the place where Imam Khomeini is buried. The marqad is a huge
  P.S. I was successful not to visit that place on the day when Tehran terror happened. I had visited that place two days before.

  It's the grave of the relogious leader of Iran's Islamic revolution who was strongly against luxurious lifestyle, but his hier made a shrine for him which is one of the most luxurious ones! So sad
