Beautiful tomb of Great persian poet and author of world famous Shahnama. A beautiful garden is laid out around it.

Ferdowsi is a highly revered Persian poet, & the author of the epic of Shahnameh. Tomb of Ferdowsi located in Tus, Iran, in Razavi Khorasan province is just 20 Kilometers outside of Mashhad. The tomb complex’s grounds include a beautiful garden, a museum & the tomb of the great poet Mehdi Akhavan-Sales.
Lot of local Iranians, thinkers, poets & International tourists including poets visit this tomb. Unfortunately, there is a expensive enterance fee which is nonsense. Religious Shrines & tombs of poets must not be used to earn money.response / report this review -

Although many travelers in mashhad go there for the holy shrine, i highly recommend do not miss this cultural monument. Also don't forget to see the other buildings.

Beautiful monument constructed in achamenid style design for the greqt persian poet. Not far from the center of the city. Definitely a must see.
