DHL International GmbH (DHL)[3] is an international courier, package delivery and express mail service, which is a division of the German logistics firm Deutsche Post. The company delivers over 1.5 billion parcels per year.
The company was founded in San Francisco, USA, in 1969 and expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s. In 1979, under the name of DHL Air Cargo, the company entered the Hawaiian islands with an inter-island cargo service using two DC-3 and four DC-6 aircraft. Dalsey and Hillblom personally oversaw the daily operations until its eventual bankruptcy closed the doors in 1983. At its peak, DHL Air Cargo employed just over 100 workers, management and pilots.

The company was primarily interested in offshore and intercontinental deliveries, but the success of FedEx prompted their own intra-US expansion starting in 1983.

In 1998, Deutsche Post began to acquire shares in DHL. It reached controlling interest in 2001, and acquired all outstanding shares by December 2002.[5] The company then absorbed DHL into its Express division, while expanding the use of the DHL brand to other Deutsche Post divisions, business units, and subsidiaries. Today, DHL Express shares its DHL brand with business units such as DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Supply Chain.[6] It gained a foothold in the United States when it acquired Airborne Express.

The DHL Express financial results are published in the Deutsche Post AG annual report.[6] In 2016, this division's revenue increased by 2.7% to €14 billion.[7] The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 11.3% over 2015 to €1.5 billion.[8]

Exzellent. Staff speaks fluent English, is working quickly, explaining everything for newbies. Price is not exactly low, but ok for important goods (1kg package express for 35us$). Don't understand the negative comments here. If they don't pick up the phone, call someone else or just go there.

We ask the DHL administration to change its staff in Erbil. They do not want to call people, they have bad treatment and they take money from people to deliver the order to the house. Unlike FedEx, they are quick to answer phone calls and provide free delivery.

I used to use DHL whenever I needed to move an item to anywhere. They are reliable and fast to transport. however their Erbil branch is not same the way their other offices do. Their communication is not good and it takes longer to complete your needs.

I personally do not recommend any posting office in Iraq, but found DHL better and cheaper than others, but overall shipping and post offices in iraq are sucks

The communication is not great. The phone number is almost always busy. When they picked the phone, they addressed my issue, though. The problem should have not happened in the first place, I argue. I was supposed to get the stuff earlier.

It's good for the staff that are there.
Very nice and polite people.
The problem is not with them but with the system. They don't have express delivery as they don't have direct flights from Iraq to anywhere. They packages have to go through Dubai and then Amman and then elsewhere.
The staff are really good though.

Disappointing and not up to international standards. "Couriered" a letter 1 week ago (paper onl) for $120, went on overseas leave and tracked online. Apparently my 2 pieces of A4 paper are still sitting in the same office in Ankawa without having moved. What kind of courier service is that?

The worst delivery service in Erbil. Even they are a delivery company, they do not deliver packages to their receivers in Erbil. But people have to go to the company to collect their packages.

one of the worst DHL stores in the world. there is no appropriate delivery and in side the store is a mess with all boxes treated badly
