I'm sure there is a good part but coming in from the south it is an endless stream of chemical plants and other industrial complexes. When we got to Ein Bokek it had all the ambiance of a tacky UK seaside resort and because so much water has been extracted from Galilee, evaporation now exceeds input so you could almost walk to Jordan on dry land! Maybe Ein Gedi is better, we couldn't go as an overnight storm had flooded the road. Fortunately we could get to Masada before the road closure which was far more interesting
Sadly, the Dead Sea was dead disappointing
We did see an interesting sign on a tree at Ein Bokek though 😝

An absolute must if you are in the area, either Israel or Jordan. The weather here is good almost all year around so bring a swimsuit no matter the weather prediction.

Beautiful sea, some beaches have shade in the water so you can experience floating in the sea (more like a large lake) even when it's very hot and it can get very hot (40-50°c)

It's very cool to swim in, but be mindful, as no one told me, there is a strong smell of Sulfur in the water, and I didn't know. So if you hate sulfur or slight rotten egg smell, do not get in the water. I probably wouldn't swim in it again, but it was very nice when I did. Also don't stay in for too long, the water starts to burn after a bit.

Dead sea is a beautiful and amazing place, you float in it because of high salt content. Avoid water in your mouth and eyes, it's painful. There are scenic spots with blue, green colour water.

One of natures most wonderful spots, the air and the water help people with certain skin conditions, the views are spectacular, its a must see place when visiting Israel

Great destination but not somewhere I could see spending more than one night since there isn't much to do in the area. The hotels that are on the beach are a better choice and herods and Leonardo are in a great location. There is a small mall with bathing suits and Dead Sea beauty products. A must see when you come to Israel

Amazing place to visit. All should go see. A little cold in the wintertime but still worth it. The water and the mud combined make your skin insanely soft and exfoliated for days after.
