The food was amazing, but my waitress was a little careless. I was eating my bread when she came to pick up the small plates and shoved her thumb into my bread while asking if I was done.

Probably the best burger I have had in my life. Definitely going back for steaks. Atmosphere was very upscale (compare with any top steakhouse in NYC).

The restaurant was relatively easily accessible with parking in surrounding streets. It was beautifully appointed with comfortable chairs. The service was second to none..if anything the waitresses were a little too intrusive and the manager came over to introduce himself which was a vibe touch. We felt royally treated. The food was excellent. What I have a gripe with is the prices. They were extremely high and I took objection to having an 18% service charge added without our permission and it appeared mandatory even though we could have refused to pay it. But there was nothing wrong with the service so we just paid. Apparently this isn't legal. I'm afraid to say that despite all the good points listed above my husband has flatly refused to come back because of the cost. It was, I admit, pretty outrageous.

Over priced and had to return steak. They had an attitude about it. Not going back. The staff was arrogant about my wanting to return the steak. It was all gristle. The chef said I could order something else but NOT another steak. There are better, fine dining with excellent food and service - not worth it.

Extremely nice ambiance, the perfect place for that special date. The food is the high point. Everything is grilled to perfection. The issue arises with the service. The reason I am giving just three stars is because there was simply not enough staff to service the tables. The prices are higher than the norm but that might be due to the strict Kasruth organisation (Rubin) that the restaurant is under.

I had the pleasure of eating at the Red Heifer restaurant last night for the very first time and I have nothing but the highest recommendations.

I belong to a study group--The Jerusalem Dental Forum--a large group of Jerusalem English speaking dentists that get together periodically for lectures in our profession. Last night we had a lecture at the restaurant followed by dinner.

The food was delicious and plentiful. Appetizers were served first and included chicken wings, chummous, Grilled eggplant, a dish of chicken tenders and mixed vegetables, 3 different types of bread including this most tasty paper thin flat type of bread that we couldn't get enough of.

We had two choices of main course. I chose the classic rib eye steak that came with a side of grilled vegetables. The steak was juicy, tender and deliciously spiced. Friends who chose the grilled chicken were equally as pleased. Hand cut fries and well as rice also accompanied the main course.

Our waiter??? He just would not leave us alone!! Ever attentive, he was always available to refill our water carafes, clear up finished dishes, bring ketchup for the fries and bring extra food when requested, and constantly checking to see if things were ok

The chef stopped by at each table to ask how we were enjoying our meal. His enthusiasm in his explanation of how and why meat is aged was fascinating and endearing. You could obviously see his passion for culinary art.

Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to both residents of and visitors to Jerusalem.

Terrible experience. They neglected to tell us that they ran out of soup for forty minutes. The food took 1:30 hours to come and when it did come it was undercooked and flavorless. The owner was rude and uncooperative. There are many other places in Jerusalem with good service and good food. Don't go here.
