We have been a great many times at Hummus Eliyahu, Beit Hashitta..one of our favoured places. Fast, pleasant service, excellent hummus.
Today was the first time we were disappointed.
The hummus was lukewarm at best. When we made a remark we were told that that was what was available and that it would take a while for the next portions to be available,
They could have said that right away and we would have waited. ( after all, it was only 18.30.)
Later the waitress offered a portion of shakshuka instead, but that was not what is was all about.
When you need time for the next fresh portion, tell it, but do not serve the leftover! That is not what Hummus Eliyahu stands for!
When we paid, the cook made the remark that she tried it and that “it was not cold”. Than you really did not understand the meaning of (professional) service. ( but OK, she did not care that the apron was not clean either)
Next time we will first check who will serve , and ask if it is fresh and warm!response / report this review -

Hummus Aliaho is the biggest hummus chain in Israel and this store specific got the Best hummus in the area, Highly recommend! they offers free refill and you can choose from a nice variety of extras to put on your hummus.
Hummus is a local traditional food and if you are visiting in Israel you must try it out.response / report this review
