Fantastic place, lots of animals to divine and explore. The site is very well laid out and even in inclement weather you can stay dry and still see all the enclosures. Soft play is a great addition and gives parents a chance to get a little respite. Staff are very friendly and willing to impart there knowledgeable of all their residents to make you visit even more enjoyable and educational.

Have to say tropical world is a must see especially if you have young kids. My Lil girl absolutely loved this place as well as her Lil cousin. They really loved all the butterflies and they couldn't get over it when one landed on us..Lots to see and do here and staff are very friendly and even let you hold some of the animals. Worth a visit if in letterkenny

Great day out. Lots of insects and animals to see, the kids loved it. A small indoor playpark was on site also. We spent about 1 hour there, but I would advise to allow for a little more time especially if you have children. Friendly staff. Good facilities.

Nice zoo. But is it worth a visit?
If you are single or a couple: i think you might better save your time and money.
If you are a family, schoolclass or interested in birds: it is worth a visit!
If you are staying in Letterkenny for a longer time and you run in rainy weather: it is a must

Cons:
- the Dino Den is not really interesting or well made up. But they are creating a new, larger area.
- the price is very high. Even higher than in many european zoos.
- after half an hour you have seen everything in the zoo

Pros:
- it is a paradise for children. You are really close to the animals.
- the price seems to be way too much. But: food is expensive. So is the care for the animals.
- it is a good attraction for rainy days.

The whole family will love this place. They have a fantastic mix of exotic creatures. All sorts of birds, reptiles and insects, including an amazing butterfly sanctuary. There is also an excellent play area for the kids, just in case they do somehow become bored. And they there's big garden centre for those green fingers.
