Great place for wedding suits, staff couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommend.
Have to say I rarely leave reviews, good or bad.
I am really annoyed with a suit I bought here. I knew nothing about suits when I went in here to buy a suit but know a bit now, which is why I am so annoyed. This experience was 6 months to a year ago.
The first thing you look for when checking if a suit fits is the shoulders. If there is divot, then it means the armhole is cut in a way that doesn't fit the wearer.
I can forgive the seller (man in his 60s, upstairs) for not noticing this or not saying it to me If he did notice the issue (he should have noticed) as the average man probably doesn't know what a divot is or looks like.
What I think is ridiculous is that the suit was way too small for me. I tried to tie the top button and he said "this suit isnt meant to buttoned, it is supposed to be left open" and something about the fashion/style at the moment.
Anyone who knows anything about suits (which I didnt at the time) would know that the top button is always meant to be tied, particularly in formal occasions ie work, ceremonies etc. I had mentioned that I wanted it for work and a ceremony and the fact that he sold me a suit that was too small to be buttoned up without looking ridiculous is really aggravating.
The other thing is the shirt that I bought was very tight on the neck. When I said this he said "dont worry you can buy a collar button extender.
First of all, offering this as a solution is ridiculous. Give me a collar size that fits or say you don't have one that will fit.
Secondly, a collar button extender looks terrible. It is basically the equivalent of leaving the top button undone and pushing up the tie in an attempt to hide the gaping hole. It looks very sloppy.
The suit, shirt and a tie cost me 350. I have probably worn it 5-6 times and it will now be going to the charity shop. I feel totally scammed.
Guy was nice and friendly and the suit looked nice but I feel as if I was lied to in order to make a sale.
Called in there yesterday to look at suits for my wedding. Was served by Dermot, great guy with a very good eye for style. They have a massive selection and offer great service, giving you as much time as you need. Well priced, great quality suits for purchase. They offer great quality well priced suits for hire too, no cheap looking rentals here! Thanks lads!
Can't thank Tom Murphy and staff enough. They absolutely pulled it out of the bag for me with an incredible suit, on such short notice. They have a v wide array of quality quality suits and expert, incredible staff. I received zero help from fat cats like debenhams but Tom Murphy's will spend all the time in the world with you to find you an amazing suit. If you don't come here, you're a baboon.
Hired a suit from Tom Murphy's Menswear and cannot thank Tom and the staff enough. The suit was exactly what I was looking for and they were not happy until the suit fitted me perfectly, they got as many sizes as I needed to try on and everyone was friendly and efficient. Top marks.
Professional Stylish. Unique.. Creative. Outstanding Best describes the experience both of us as Grooms had in planning and choosing our wedding suits. Tom Murphy's skill and years of experience shows he knows what he is at when kitting out guys to feel their best on their wedding day. With an unbelievable choice and range no wonder we met men who travelled far and wide to wear his suits. Great attention to detail, enthusiastic staff, quality service and with lots of laughs and chats making this part of the wedding planning a seamless experience. Thanks a million Tom for your incredible patience and time keeping :) Kevin and Benny
