I felt completely at home as soon as I got off the bus and entered Tigh Mheaic. The pub and common room are cozy and traditional. The food is first rate. The charming couple who run the pub hope to restore this small historic hotel. It will be a great place for parents bringing their kids for Gaeltacht instruction, as well as for hikers and fishers. I think there is even some surfing as well as boating and a yearly music festival. This photo of my sister and I with our second cousins means a lot to me. We shared a great meal at the pub. Tigh Mheaic serves Carna, a short way from the place where my mother grew up. My cousins run Atlantic Wave, as a BnB on that spot. I'd love to return one day!
Been here 2 weeks best place around. Great food, great pub, staff amazing definitely worth a visit made us feel very welcome kids and dogs!
Great place. Food is good. Menu limited but that means less confusion when ordering!.
Nice local feel to the place. Kids and dogs welcome. Nice big log burner in centre of bar to warm by.
A band also started playing which was a pleasant surprise.
Definitely not one to miss.
Quaint little country pub, lovely people and gorgeous food. Especially the bread! Go raibh maith agaibh.
Great pub with excellent food and service.
A charming restaurant and we were so fortunate to stop in for a late lunch right before a group of musicians arrived. They were fabulous! Waitress was helpful and generous with our children too.
Great time, lovely food. Very very friendly.
Very friendly and fast waitress. The Food was fresh and tasted amazing. It was the Best Pub for dining we've been so far in our Ireland vacation.
The best pub grub in Connemara. Live music. Traditional atmosphere. A must see.
Lovely place in the deepest part of Connemara, the waiting staff was friendly, I went for lunch with my girlfriend, the seafood chowder impressed me as it had small octopuses (love them), mussels, and chunks of fish, tasty creamie flavor and nice soda brown bread. We had the chicken goujons and a burger, the rations were generous. But what we really loved of that meal was the Death by Chocolate cake. Was from out of these world!
