Great b and b.very helpful owners.lots to do and see in locality. Ideal location for Cappoquin,Lismore even Dungarvan and within half a mile of Mount Melleray Monastery Great choice of food too.Much better than a larger hotel and up to half the price.. Adults only so if you like peace and quiet a great choice

1 star is 1 too many to rate this place. Went to check this out as a possible venue for my daughter visiting Ireland, met by the most unhelpful, arrogant inhospitable person imaginable. Would not let us in to see the place and basically told us if we want to know anything about the place look on the internet. Surprised they have any visitors with an attitude like that definitely no Irish hospitality there.

A majestic place. Very cosy and authentic. Has its own charm. The owner is very hospitable - met us personally, offered a drink and a nice chat in front of a fireplace. The room was warm and spacious, as was the bathroom, with a full size bath - wonderful after the journey. Enjoyed the place a lot. Definitely would recommend - truly a pilgrim's rest.

Great value, lovely clean and comfortable hotel. Loved the eclectic and antique furnishings. Breakfast was nice too. It's family run, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

If I could give zero stars I would. This hotel took my money and marked me as a no show even though I did.
I drove half way across the country to stay here, when I arrived I was told they could not let me check in, I was forced to drive all the way home with a crying fiancé. After some research I found out I'm not the only one who this has happened to. In my own line of work I meet American tourists every day, and I'm proud that most Irish businesses are hospitable genuine and caring.

The pilgrims rest is NOT any of the above, God forbid your flight was delayed or your GPS was off or you hit traffic,,, don't expect the pilgrims rest to give a damn.

Beyond Terrible. I reserved a room at this hotel and arrived 15 minutes late (for some reason it closes at 9pm) There was absolutely nobody there. I had to go to find another hotel far away at the last minute. Then they had the nerve to charge me as a "no-show" so basically they stranded me and then stole my money.

Yes they tell you on the booking site to call but they do not say the hotel closes at 9 - quite misleading. I've never had anything like this happen in my life. It's shocking that any business would strand their customers in the middle of the country because they were 15 minutes late.

Do not stay here - a lot of hotels in this area are around the same price. It's not worth the risk. Besides, who would want to stay in a hotel that can't even bother to keep staff on the premises. What a joke.
