We stayed at the Lodge for a few days. The room was very comfortable and it had beautiful views of the grounds and Lough Corrib. The staff were extremely helpful in booking our various activities and dinner reservations. It was a very relaxing environment and I would love to visit again!

Our stay at The Lodge was top class in every way. The lLodge itself is maintained to a top standard, the staff are friendly professional and courteous. The Wilde restaurant is a must when you stay, fine dining at its best. The grounds have many beautiful walks of walking is your thing and other on site activities include golf, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, tennis and archery.
You are situated at the heart of one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland with plenty to see and do within a short drive.

Stunning view. Great for weddings. Kinda posh but cheaper version of Ashford. A lot smaller than Ashford but it's a 5min walk away

The perfect hotel after our horrid experience at the Malton in Killarney. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. Everything works properly. In-room safe. Excellent view from our room. Very quiet at night. ALL the people are friendly and aching to help without being cloying. Good breakfast. No pretentiousness, unless one tries to visit the castle next door, but that's OK, I am sure the castle is nicer to look at from the Lodge than up close. Hint - Google maps will get you very lost trying to get here. Find a paper map and directions in town before trying to get to the Lodge.

Personally I thought it was around 30% overpriced. Their's no guarantee of getting into the castle or grounds. Bar food and room service menu portions are tiny. On the plus side it's pet friendly.

Do not stay at this hotel. Our room was tastelessly decorated, the bright red hurt the eyes; the windows were so drafty, we could literally hear the wind blowing through; and the toilet seat was broken. The hotel is advertised on the website as located on the Ashford estate, except you need a ticket for a walk on the estate and you may or may not be granted access to the Castle. We were denied entry with the pretext that it was very busy, however, when we entered the castle's reception area, there wasn't a living soul except for the staffand we were not allowed to have a quick peek inside of the castle because we were coming from the Lodge. So, if you don't like to be treated as a second-class citizen, avoid this place. The castle is magnificent and the estate is gorgeous, but it didn't make up for the rudeness of the gentleman at the castle's reception.
We stayed at the Dromoland Castle a night prior (just 1.5 hours away) and we were treated like royalty and shown real Irish hospitality. The difference in these two experiences was night and day.response / report this review -

A brilliant location with excellent staff. The staff are really really good. They make The Lodge in my opinion. Stayed in the Brennan suite and it was lovely. Deco was nice but couldn't get the gas fire going. Good shower just a pity it was in a bath rather than a shower unit. Very happy overall.

I stayed in the Browne Suite in 1/17, and I have nothing bad to say about our stay. I arrived 1 hour early, and was let into our suite right away. The hotel grounds are impeccable, with a courtyard in the back. The room was furnished well, with air conditioning on both floors. The bathroom was gorgeous, with marble surrounding the perimeter. Overall, the room was spacious and modern.
A wonderful experience! To note: you must have passes to walk around the estate, especially to get into the castle grounds.
