My husband and I stayed at the Green Gate and had the most beautiful stay… This is the true Irish experience! In fact, of my many times to Ireland, this would be my favorite place to stay! Paula is a wonderful hostess, and the moment we arrived she made us a cup of tea and told us interesting stories of the village, the history of the cottage (which is very rich), and knew of the best places to go in the area. The breakfast in front of the peat fire, and with local made jams was absolutely brilliantWe will definitely return! Thank you again, Paula!

This beautiful little bed and breakfast in the country is by far the best place I stayed in during the two weeks I traveled around Ireland (and the other places were almost all good as well). Much of that is because of Paula. She's friendly, happy to talk, and full of stories and suggestions about the area. I much enjoyed the chance to talk not only to her but also to a couple other guests (who happened to be Irish) while being served an excellent breakfast at a small communal table. The trip to Ireland as a whole was fantastic, but I would have appreciated even more of exactly this kind of chance to just chat with people that lived there.

As far as the inn goes, it is composed of a few rustic cottage accommodations on a hill. The place oozes charm. There were a couple horses and a cute little dog (Bobby) running around the spacious property. Don't expect an antiseptic hotel-like experience with every modern convenience (my room had only a bathtub with a flexible shower head fed by well water -- no stand up shower, I think mostly due to the slanting roof). If that kind of thing is a deal breaker for you, don't go. Do expect a relaxing, homey place to stay that will likely be one of the highlights of your trip.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting 'The Green Gate B&B, with a Bunch of Local Ardara Ladies, (Some who reside locally, and several who are 'Home' on Holiday from foreign parts)! What a Warm and Genuine Welcome we received from the lovely Paula, who Manages/Runs the B&B. We were shown around the Beautifully Maintained Stone Cottage, Restored Outhouses, and The Extensive Gardens, by Paula.whilst being regaled with Stories/Snippets about Paul Chatenaud, who sadly passed away recently, having Owned/Run the 'Green Gate' for Many Years. His Memory is Certainly being kept alive by Paula, who refers to Him in almost every sentence.We then had Tea/Coffee and Cake. To sum up 'The Green Gate' in One Word.. 'SERENITY'Well Worth A Visit!!
