This place was absolutely terrible, and they think that a disclaimer that it's in the city and therefore might be noisy is a catch all excuse for any guests also making noise.
We had two rooms here. One for my Girlfriend and I and the other for my mother and her best friend. Let's start with my mother's room. It was right over a bar that was noisy on a Wednesday night until about midnight. This is made worse by the fact that the rooms are stifling unless you open the windows and of course opening the windows enhances the noise.
Now let's talk about my room. We were lucky enough to be on the other side of the hall. So we could open the window without an assault of noise. Until the guests in the room next door decide to have an all night party in their room.
At 2am I politely go and knock on the door and explain that we are trying to sleep next door. This has limited success until they (being drunk forget).
At 4am I call the front desk and ask them to come up and deal with it. Though how they could not have heard it from downstairs is beyond me (2nd floor). To his credit he tries to come up and deal with the problem. What follows is a discussion outside the door where he tells them to be quiet and when they start to argue, he 'fines' them. They proceed to threaten him, and invite him to come outside and fight (I am hiding just inside my room so as not to escalate the situation).
Eventually, the noise is enough that another guest comes and yells at them. Poor night manager.
No refund was offered, despite the fact that they 'fined' the other guests, making a profit off the bad behaviour.
This is of course a budget establishment, but you might as sleep on a park bench, you'll get more sleep.response / report this review -

Won't be back. Glad was only there for one night. Bedroom fine but the bathroom was awful. Wouldn't use shower as it was degusting with mildew. Crack in the sink and toilet seat hanging off. Signs on first floor for bar and restaurant points up but they don't tell you it's up the street not in the hotel. Room service don't know how they would it carry the food and drinks down the street lol.

Hotel was very good! No noise problems even there was live music in the bar under the hotel.
Beds were quite comfortable and the bathroom was very clean!

WARNNING!!!! You really should NOT take this accommodation if you need to sleep during the night. The bar under my room has a horrible band who plays pop music which you can also hear from 1km away till 1230(NOW)midnight. Of course you hear it like you are infront of a huge speaker and feel the enormous irritable beat propery under your bed. Actually after the band play the pub started to put amplified pop music as a replacement. I wonder when they stop this noise.

Far too noisy at night! There is a busy bar suituated beneath the hotel making it extremely hard to get any sleep until all hours of the morning when the bar closes. The rooms are lovely likewise with the staff! Would only recommend to people on a hen or stag.

We had an amazing stay here! Sarah was fantastic checking us in and giving helpful information about places to visit. Breakfast was really good and they have a lounge with pastries and a cappuccino machine. The only issue I can see a person having was the level of noise late at night; however they are up front about it beforehand, and it is an easy price to pay for downtown access to everything. Probably not suited for small children?

Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Sarah, the concierge, directed us to great nightlife and helped us get settled in. Fantastic breakfast in the morning. I will recommend this place to everyone coming to Limerick.
Things to be aware of:
-The shower was very small and difficult to get into. I'm a big guy and it was like being born again getting in/out of it

BYUER BEWARE!! Read the fine print. This hotel will not offer a booking refund if you change your mind and choose not to stay. We booked 5 months in advance, changed our minds a couple weeks later after the hotel manager warned us about noisy nights (we have small children). I thanked her for her advice, and canceled my reservation. But I didn't receive any refund of my deposit.
This is very poor business practice, especially since I canceled 4 months prior to my trip.response / report this review
