Cozy hotel, lovely staff but unfortunately not prepared for more than a handful of guests. The rooms are wide and open and if you pay the extra also come with a lovely sea view with Old Patrick's head far in the distance on a good day.
Only the restaurant could not quite live up to the rest. Food was rather bland and unimaginative and service very slow with a weird focus on making it a "Michelin-dining experience" even though that's a very long shot.

Overall, great hotel - maybe eat out somewhere else.

Some places confuse fancy with nice. This place falls under that trap. The place is expensive and does not provide the substance necessary. The food at dinner was well presented but not great tasting.

Wonderful Remote Hotel on the Ocean. Fantastic place to stay that is not overwhelmed by tourists. Interesting history of the hotel and the current owner Frances. Great places to walk around the area with Ceide Fields close by as well as DownPatrick.

If you want to get away from the rat race of life and enjoy some great Irish hospitality, great food and superior accommodations, then Stella Maris in Ballycastle, County Mayo is where you need to go.
