It's a lovely place full of history and warm innkeepers. Maura and Tom are so helpful and kind. The breakfast was amazing and their suggestions for sights and sounds of the area were spot on. Hope to come back someday.

The Shelburne is a short walk from Kenmare town, but a beautiful world in it's own right. Whether you want to lounge around the beautiful house or gardens, or wish to partake in the many great locations to visit in Kenmare, you can't go wrong here!

The lodge itself is a classic beauty, with its historical background from Lord Shelburne. The public rooms are wonderfully decorated, great colors, engaging artworks and ample rooms. The bedrooms are large, comfortable with views of the lush grounds. While the house and grounds are great, Tom and Maura are spectacular! Maura is an amazing cook, so your full Irish breakfast is the best in the Ireland. She knows all the pubs and restaurants in town, so she can give you the perfect recommendation. Tom can tell stories like no one else, from the history of the region to the best places to see on the Ring of Kerry. He even told us about a hidden place that was one of the most amazing views that we saw on our trip. If you are anywhere near Kenmare, you have to visit Tom and Maura
