Quick and painless airport. International flights in the high season can take some time to clear customs and security. Make sure you are early.
The restraint/bar area before you hit customs has a nice breakfast. 10.95 for a full Irish breakfast and 6.95 for any 5 items, toast and a hot drink.response / report this review -

My mom and I were lucky we had gotten a stop from Kuwait Airport. This was a transit plane going to JFK. When we went through customs, we didn't have to remove our sandals. We however had to put all of our items in the bin, including the carry-on bags. And finally, we went through a walk through metal detector. After we had finished customs, we had gotten a transit boarding pass, maybe earlier, I went to a restaurant to get a sandwich and a dessert for the plane. And I had some US Dollars. And I got some Euros. And the good news is that there is a currency converter. And I used all of those euros, and I had gotten $7.50 US Dollars. And me and my mom looked at the flight schedule and we arrived early. And we boarded our plane. From Shannon Airport to JFK airport. This is by far an excellent airport.

Have always been very fond of Shannon Airport since my first trip to Ireland back in 1970. Of course , much has changed since then; what i really miss is the old duty free shop with a bar and also availability of sandwiches, coffee, etc. in area very close to boarding. I suppose with more complex security measures that became necessary over the years, so much has changed. The food/drink service area near boarding is very plain and uninviting. You would never know you are in an IRISH airport. There used to be lovely, large pictures of attractions and scenery in the Shannon area/West of Ireland. The airport staff remains very friendly and helpful and I highly recommend Shannon for its location, ease of getting in and out of airport and its proximity to the beautiful Irish West.

Thanks for free wifi. However, unhappy (mostly about Kuwait Airways) for this undisclosed stopping and change of plane and this annoying level of redundant security checks. Good side is that staffs are helpful and not rude (unlike many airports)

Such a pleasant airport! Every staff person was warm and helpful. There was good food to buy. Organized and good signage. Easy rental car pickup from Hertz.

Easy to get there. Family friendly. Like that they have a sensory room. Set down area is in car park so if your collecting someone who's flight is delayed you'll have to find somewhere else to wait as in the car park it's 15 minutes free and then a charge after that.

Modern and chic airport. Had no problems with passing through at all. Wifi was free too and charging ports abundant. Strangely quiet and empty during mid March when I flew.
