This is a beautiful church, built around the time of the famine in local sandstone. Around the front this is faced off, but around the back is rough hewn, as funds ran out.
It is one of the best situated churches in the country, with beautiful grounds including a waterfall. The graveyard takes you up a hill with views of the town.
The front entrance takes you through a 15th century Franciscan friary with the gable and bell tower still intact. A lovely place for a walk.
