Fascinating historic site. We did our own tour rather than with the guide, spent a good 90 mins checking out the architecture and graves, had hoped to spot something spooky but didn't, according to the receptionist there have been a few sightings of child ghosts in stairwells and chapel. Was quite cold and gift shop was closed. Nearest parking is €4.50 which I thought was very steep. Admission was well worth €8.

It was so awesome to come on a fairly clear day off season. We were one of very few people there leading up to sunset and were able to get some great photos. Totally worth a stop!

Great view. It has a very small museum, but after 30min you've seen whats there to see. Cool little wool product shop right next to it.

Rock of Cashel is a must see if you are in that part of Ireland. It is a beautiful ruins with some well preserved architectural features, a round tower and many high crosses. The views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful. Be sure to visit the Abbey just below the Rock as well.

We loved this place. It was one of the most interesting and informative archaeological and historical sites we had the pleasure of visiting. The local tour guides are wonderful and it's an awe-inspiring site to explore.

Awesome castle, frequent guided tours with knowledgeable guides. It is mostly in ruin big you want to see what inside of a castle looked like, you are out of luck. Very picturesque from afar. 4 stars because of convoluted way of getting there - signs, roundabouts and turns are not obvious, you end up driving around the hill couple of times before finding that small road that leads to it

One of the best castles to visit- it is really authentic with no 'restoration' or 'displayed' rooms. The tour we had around was also very interesting and witty. Would highly recommend visiting this castle if you only have time to visit a few in Ireland

Very interesting historic site that offers free tours on the half hour (12:30, 1:30, etc.) with a paid admission. There is an interesting 20 minute video at various times in various languages throughout the day. Take a walk through the castle on your own to see and take pictures before the tour. Alternatively, if you visit participating locations downtown and spend 15 euros, you can get 2 free admissions.

Excellent castle / cathedral with stunning views from the surroundings. If you have a passenger with limited mobility it's possible to drive up the steep road and drop him or her off by the gate from where it's reasonably level. Cormac's chapel has recently been restored to preserve the interior and is well worth a visit. Helpful staff and a warm welcome.

Beautiful site. They've done an amazing job preserving the ruins and recovering the beautiful art work in many of the rooms. A must see if you are interesting in art and archaeology.

The Rock of Cashel in Tipperary in Ireland also know as Patrick's Rock where St Patrick came to pray and baptised the people.
Perched up on the hill over looking the surrounding valleys .
Fantastic pictures to be gotten here as you learn so much about Irish History.
Great parking and toilet facilities but not wheelchair friendly with all the hills etc.
€4.50 to park or on street parking where you have to pay the meter.

This was one of my favorite castles I visited in Ireland. Sits atop of a hill with a great view of the countryside. They had a free tour we joined which was very educational. The only bummer was that we couldn't go inside because of the restoration but I still enjoyed my visit.

An interesting place I would have liked to have had time with. Views were tainted as there was a lot of scaffolding up for preservation work but I understand this needs to be for continued history. Most visible is the tower with the witches hat peak. Much mythology and history. Several different levels of history have existed from St Patrick, the conversion of kings and the seat of kingdoms.
