Best value gym in Cork City. No pool, sauna, steam room, etc, but has a comprehensive range of equipment, to suit everyone whether you are into bodybuilding or just keeping fit. Has a ladies-only gym, also, and a range of fitness classes. Very reasonable membership fees.

Great staff great equipment. Far from old equipment. Gyms are for sweat and tears not for admiring the craftsmanship in an establishmentroll on tomorrow.

Ugly and old gym and the guy at the reception wasn´t honest to me, I´m not recommending this place to anybody.

After having heart surgery, I needed to join a gym to get regular exercise for long term recovery. So I needed something that was going to be very affordable every year. I also needed the location to be right. I needed it to be about 15 mins both from my house and a stone throw away from town. And of course, it had to have all the equipment. Joined the Rivers Edge and haven't looked back. Ticks all the right boxes and it has everything I need.

I see that one reviewer said it was "run down". We all perceive things differently. I would rather describe it as a real honest type of gym.you know.like one of those real boxing gyms that you see in the movies that were blood, sweat and tears are shed regulary and people aren't too concerned about all the bells and whistles. So no.its not the Hilton Hotel, but it has everything for the dedicated workout guy. If you are looking for bells and whistles, pay double and go to a swanky hotel if you choose. The owners don't twist your arm to join and they are honest and open about everything and will show you around if you ask. One thing is a dead cert.nobody in Cork will beat this gym in the price.

Finally, while everyone is entitled to their opinion, in a way it is sort of impossible to actually give a negative review. To give a negative review, you would have to have joined and been a member. But as I alredy said, since they are willing to give you a tour of the place and you are not forced to join.how can you give a negative when YOU have chosen it knowing what it was?.

It gets full marks for me anyway because location is great for me, it has all the equipment, it has a place to change and have a hot shower.and the staff are sound and so are the clientele..and you can't beat it in price. Well done, lads!

I've been here, it's grand but it's very rough around the edges, like the steam room in the men's changing area is like a graveyard for old building site rubbish! Just full of manky old buckets from some project or other, and there's communal showers as well which I thought was pretty old school! It doesn't look much like the photos on the website but like I say it's grand, a bit run down but if you don't mind that it's a handy place in the middle of town:)
