Exterior of a fine mansion with a stunning view of the Sugar Loaf mountain and beautiful gardens. Downside very expensive entry fee over €10 to garden, should be €5 (gardens, parks are only £2/3 in trust properties up north). Shops should have been put in the courtyard area not the house, what were they thinking? The interior is sadly wasted not utilised to it's fullest potential, they should have restored the rooms properly. Lovely fountains but some in need of renovation. Gardens worth a visit, but unlikely to revisit as they are too pricey for the average person to re-visit regularly.

Great gardens, on a nice day you could spend an afternoon exploring the various areas of the gardens.
Good cafe and shops, very busy when we visited but still great service.

First of all, it was a beautiful day Bank holiday Monday, sun shining, gardens still fab at this time of year, kids will enjoy climbing the Pepper Pot tower, lunch in the terrace cafe was super, great parking, lovely garden center and shops, enjoyed it immensely

Really beautiful location with superb gardens where you could literally lose hours exploring. In fact, lost too much time in the gardens and didn’t get to explore the house too much. Well worth a visit, although I thought the family price of €25 a little high for enjoying these gardens. That said, happy to contribute this towards maintaining this beautiful area. Plenty of parking onsite, lovely garden centre too!

The drive in to Powerscourt is a feast for the eyes it has spectacular views of the sugar loaf mountain, the giant tree lined road with a golf course on one side leads up to the big estate and house. Well worth the time to visit the place from Dublin or bring the visitors or family. The garden centre is a good curiosity of all things outdoors from furniture to ceramics and plants, then there is the Avocado coffee shop well known for the local homemade produce you just can't resist bought a few treats.
I stayed for an overnight with my sisters in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Powerscourt grounds and it was a delight from the entrance till we left .The staff are very helpful and friendly.The spa and pool the gardens and River walk we all had a holiday we didn't want to leave the room it was a delight to stay there you will love it.

Nice place to visit on a sunny day. You can enjoy the garden and relax on the grass. Worth a visit but 10€ entrance fee is a bit too high of a price in my perspective, therefore only 4 stars.

Some of the best gardens on the east coast of Ireland and close to Dublin. You can get good food in the restaurant and Avoca hand weavers have an outlet there for high quality wool clothes and rugs etc. It's possible to get a year's membership so you can walk the gardens, see the waterfall and stroll along the River walk as often as you like.

The name Powerscourt House and Garden is confusing. You'd think there's a house in the tour. The house was burned down and was reconstructed, only to the point where it is full of gift shops and restaurant. Non of the old Castle interior was restored to the old castle's state, which was very disappointing.
The gardens are indeed nice and beautiful, only they are way overpriced, not justifying the admission fee, which does not include the waterfalls that require extra money.
If you're willing to pay a lot of money for an hour or so of nice gardens, and no more than that, then go for it. Otherwise, find a different castle to visit.
