A little messy in store, but a great selection of products. It's hard to browse with pallets all over the shop floor, maybe just my visit time. Will definitely shop here again

Such a great store absolutely no need for live meer cats 😟 heart breaking to learn they have been enclosed in tiny enclosure for over 8 years. I noticed they kept repeating same actions over and over again so obviously psychological problems due to be enclosed for such a long time. The store and staff 10/10 but won't be visiting again as too upsetting to see these beautiful creatures living so cruelly.

Attended the Birthday event this weekend with family, absolutely brilliant day out, so much to do and see, great for kids with the face painter and clown -.so funny, my two kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had so much fun looking at all the animals, even got photos with Marshall and Chase. Very evident so much hard work and organisation went into the day, all the staff of this store deserve huge praise, all so helpful, friendly and approachable. Well done Petworld Athlone, here's to another 10 years!!

Fabulous day, fun for all the family, face painting, ball pit, radio 3, lots of giveaways, food and drink, lolly pops for children. Must say all the staff were brilliant. Roll on 20years. WELL DONE!!

Meerkats are kept in a ridiculously small run with no space to run or dig, its depressing and cruel to see them so bored and in such a small space. I went in to ask advice about my pet and was given out to by a woman with dyed red/purple hair and glasses, who has been rude to me before without cause. The prices are absurdly high and honestly from now on if I MUST go there (as it is the only pet store in Athlone, although I'll probably go online from now on) I'm going to call ahead to make sure she isn't there. It's the third time she's been rude to me, and I've heard plenty of stories of her being rude to others. She obviously has no concept of how to behave in an environment involving people, and obviously has more in common with the bottom feeding fish than with the humans who visit the store. Other than that, the employees who work their are knowledgeable and lovely, and its a shame that such a stain on customer service works alongside them. Several years of loyalty for no reward but being chastised and embarrassed.

A lot of stuff for your pets. Dogsup to medium size bread, nothing for pitbull. 3 stars cos prices are higher then other pet stores

Nice variety. They seem to restock their fish on a Wed. So if you plan to buy tropical fish - Go here on a Wednesday or Thursday morning.
