We contacted Overland Ireland to see if they could help us out at the very last minute with a custom private tour for our honeymoon. The trip was to take place after the season had already ended, with guides already home for the winter and many attractions already closed. We had specific dates that couldn’t budge and a specific budget in mind, and two of our previous trips had been canceled due to COVID.
Overland Ireland came through in spades!
Reinier was incredibly helpful, quickly crafting a trip for us that included lodging upgrades throughout, as well as various adjustments due to the time of year we were traveling. He was very easy to work with via email, and his responses were timely and informative.
We were nervous when we arrived in Ireland to begin our adventure. But our guide, Pat, quickly put our minds at ease. It was the first time for all of us doing a private guided tour for just two people, but by the end of the trip I think we all agreed that it had been a blast. Pat was knowledgeable, kind, friendly, funny, considerate, and extraordinarily helpful at all times. Even when little things went wrong (due to external providers making small mistakes), he was quick to jump on it and get things working for us. He was also extremely flexible, letting us dictate the parameters and even timings to a certain extent. He even redesigned the final day of our trip completely on the fly in order to satisfy a certain Guinness craving! Reinier was also flexible, extending our stay both before and after in Dublin, as well as arranging drivers for us to and from the airport. Everything was taken care of from start to finish, and Pat even followed up with us during our journey home and afterwards.
We felt safe throughout our trip, with COVID precautions followed quite extensively (though less so in Northern Ireland). We brought our own COVID tests with us for the return trip (as required by the US), but Pat was also willing to help us out with scheduling those if needed.
We truly enjoyed our journey with Overland Ireland. As a small, local company, they are extremely well-organized, quick to action, and personable. They can handle everything from the less-expensive 16-person tours all the way up to our rather high-end 10-day honeymoon, complete with ravishing upgraded lodgings (Ashford Castle and Hayfield Manor particularly stood out), even arranging dining options ranging from take away toasties to pub grub to seats at a very hard to get into Michelin Star restaurant. Whatever your budget and whatever your style, Overland Ireland has you covered! Just get ready to get a bit wet and muddy, and get your camera out for quite possibly some of the most breathtaking scenery you’ll ever lay eyes on.response / report this review -

I had an excellent experience with Overland Ireland and would absolutely recommend the 7-day Emerald Explorer small group tour to active individuals. I saw, learned about, and experienced much more of Ireland than I imagined and met some amazing new friends along the way. Many thanks to our guide, Pat, who went above and beyond his duties to ensure we all had a wonderful experience.

We had a great time on the Ultimate Ireland tour over 10 days from 15 Aug 21. A good overview of all Ireland covering Key places like Giant causeway, titanic exhibition, black cab tour of Belfast, beautiful county Donegal, Tralee & Dingle bays with cliffs of moher, beautiful villages along the wild Atlantic way- Ardra, Westport Dooling kenmare ring of Kerry, Kinsale, blarney castle , rock of Cushell and Aran islands.
A bit intense but worth. Jimmy our driver guide is a great guy in every aspect

It's impossible to put the magic of this experience into words. If you are considering a small group tour with Overland Ireland, go for it!! (We did the 7-day Great Atlantic small group tour.) You will be so glad you did. I didn't even realize what a cool company this is when we booked because we booked through a third party. It's not the type of "fuddy dud" tour experience one might imagine for these things, it's a modernized experience suitable for a wide range of ages. It's also a relatively small business with staff who are easy to reach vs customers being just a number. Our group of 5 (young at heart) 40- and 50-something ladies were debating trying to rent a car and drive around ourselves, and honestly, we initially felt a little resigned to do a guided tour but it was definitely the right choice for so many reasons, one being that we packed in so many awesome activities we wouldn't have otherwise. We also loved the other folks we were grouped with, and they enriched our experience as well. As a long-time vegan, food ended up being not a hassle but a highlight of the trip largely due to our guide's thoughtful prep and research. We would not have chosen this company had they not made it clear they can accommodate vegans and vegetarians, and they truly did! When you consider the thoughtfully chosen gems for nightly accommodations, the activities and all their equipment, additional expert activity guide and local guides for city walking tours, concierge-type services like otherwise impossible-to-get restaurant reservations with all food needs and preferences accommodated, all of this alone is well worth the price and then some. To then not only also have safe comfortable rides everywhere, but our own personal expert tour guide to narrate and enrich every experience is worth its weight in gold!! Any tour company would be lucky to have Pat, who is incredibly knowledgeable and caring but also thoughtful, funny, and endlessly patient throughout all our shenanigans. He expertly juggled so many moving parts. We also had Marie guide us on our final day who is great as well. I felt comfortable and safe with the level of Covid-awareness and precautions. Honestly, this trip seems worth double the price. "Trip of a lifetime" is not being dramatic! We can't stop talking about our fun times and will never ever forget it. Highly recommend Overland Ireland!

Went with my wife on a honeymoon, amazing tour (Wild West), amazing guides (Reinier and Clodagh), perfect mix of activities (kayaking, surfing, hiking, ), amazing selection of lodgings and lots of free time to look and poke around. Good fun, would recommend to anybody!

My daughter and I just returned from an awesome vacation with Overland Ireland. We did the Ultimate 7-day Tour and it was a fantastic experience! Our guide Reinier was great and he gave us a vacation week with the perfect balance of touring and learning about Ireland, free time, and fun activities (kayaking, hiking, surfing, and biking). Ireland was beautiful and being in a small group allowed us to see so much! Hope to go back again sometime!!

Fantastic!! We spent so much time outside - hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking. I loved all the activities. Met great people, Clodagh our guide was great. I highly recommend this tour to people who want a very active, exciting trip. We definitely got to places the big buses just can't get to.

I did the 5 day south and west tour, it was fantastic. Our tour guide Reinier was amazing, he was knowledgeable, well organized and was able to accommodate everyone's requests. We had lots of fun doing things as a group but we also had time to enjoy activities and explore places individually. There was never any pressure to take part in everything and you could mix as much or little as you want. Also made some good friends along the way. The Overland Ireland tours are the way to go. I would highly recommend them. Big thank you Overland Ireland!

Recently went on the 7 day tour and had an absolute blast. Can't speak highly enough of Overland Ireland tours and the tour guide we had. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, hands down the best holiday I've ever had with the most amazing people.
