The place has been wonderful on both sides of head. Pls be warned that normal tourists are not allowed towards light head as its a private property which opens once in a year for public access. You have to be member of golf club for unrestricted restricted access.

If I say and believe "Old Head has the greatest golf course views in the world on a nice day". That is a big statement. However, I believe this to be true and I believe the Old Head Golf experience is worth adding to your next Irish golf tour to the South Of Ireland

Beautiful scenery. Pro-tip: even if you aren't a golfer, the clubhouse has a pub license, which means that they are legally required to let you in. Just tell the guard at the gate that you're going in for a pint at the clubhouse, and they can't refuse, even though all the signage tries to indicate that it is members only. From there, you can get some amazing views of the lighthouse and cliffs.

Great views, good services at the clubhouse, notably the course is maintained to a high standard for playing and presentation. Tough day for golfers when the wind blows and not so nice when the weather is foggy. However, on a summers day, Old Head Golf Links is one of the best places in the world to play golf.

Literally the finest Links Golf course in the world (ask links magazine) The Old Head must be on your bucket list if you have not played it yet! Fine dining and five star accommodation coupled with 18 holes of pure challenge and exhilarating views of the sea. Olde Head is set on the Wild Atlantic Way and actually built atop an isthmus. Every hole has am amazing coastal atlantic view and the course is kept in tournament condition during the season which spans late spring to early autumn / fall. (closed during the winter) a life changing experience for any golfer. The lobster salad int he spike bar is also simply amazing. The staff are the most lovely people as well!

I had flown to London on business for several years and learned of The Old Head on the video screens on BA. I was fortunate to play with my Dad (Pop) about 4-5 years ago. I went back 2 years ago and visited with my wife, however did not play. I am going back to play with my two sons and Pop again this weekend. All I can say is, hell yeah! Great Great time and a little slice of paradise. TOP NOTCH! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN!
